Yep. Me, as someone who is actually doing research on machine learning, am very fucking annoyed by this. These days it is like: "What do you do?" - "Oh, I work with AI. But not that AI. Our AI is being trained to understand how people visualize space on the basis of linguistic path descriptions and sketched maps."
