An original Legend of Zelda story, in which Zelda's attempt to prevent the curse of Hero, Princess, and Beast from taking hold begins the curse anew. In her bid for power though, she ends up as the Beast, with her childhood friends being gifted the mantle of Hero and Prince by the Goddess who has turned her back on her.

Souls of Power follows Link's journey of rescuing not only Hyrule, but the neighboring lands and the Great Spirits who help them as well, in the midst of a great war that the now Queen Zelda III has waged using her stolen power.

Souls of Power talk is gonna be in breackets [] :), technically its still world building, but its just more reliant on stuff I put into my fic. Other stuff is just me making up shit for fun!

Fairies fall into a few different categories, namely those of healing, those of guidance, and those of soul though some will lie inbetween healing and guidance, simply existing as just fairies. All of them though, are made up of differing types of life magic. They are either born of other fairies, or of magic itself being collected into a living form. Healing fairies are the most common, [called shiom'ris or Gentle Fairy in the language of the Fogs], and as their magic implies, they are fairies who are able to use their gift of life to heal others. They gain their magic from their environment, and as such are commonly found around fairy fountains where they can replenish magic and live their lives far more easily and safely. Guiding fairies are quite rare, [called shiom'erech or Knowing Fairy in Fog], and are known to serve as guides for others as dictated by a more powerful being. Guiding fairies sustain themselves and gain power through life experiences, as life magic relies on life being lived and experienced, and as such do not need to be in fairy fountains to replenish their magic unless grievously injured, tired, or sick. These fairies are rarely seen by others normally, as they primarily serve as guides for either important figures, children of great magic, or those who are asked for. One way this sort of fairy comes into being is for someone to sacrifice something that has been close to them or their family for a long while, such as childhood toys or heirlooms, in order for that magic to form a fairy. This is usually done when a family has a sick child or one who needs extra care that they are unable to give. These fairies are normally not able to heal and some pass on and die when their duty is fulfilled. These two are both colloquially just called fairies by most cultures. [The third type are soul fairies, or the Shiom'spiri. Made up of soul magic, these beings are both one with the Fogs and also individual creatures. The only ones they are able to actively heal are those from their homelands who share a similar magic. More about them can be found HERE lol.]

The Great Fairy! Varying in size, shape, and appearance, the Great Fairy is a simple title for the leaders of fairies, specifically those who have gained enough magic or been born/created with enough, who are able to produce and feed magic to other magical creatures/the environment. This is feeding of their own magic is a passive trait. Many Great Fairies are found only in fairy fountains, which are formed when a Great Fairy settles into a place and the magic of the environment feeds off their magic. There, its further fed as other magical creatures both aid and live such as fairies, born of the magic and themselves take after the environment who bring by travellers; minish, who build towns around the fountains and care for the area physically; or blupees, who help feed the fountains by bringing rupees that carry magic from trading so many hands. Great Fairies in return act as a guardian and leader to them. It is their magic that repells monsters and enemies, and it is them who fights intruders if need be though its rather uncommon for them to do so if there are other people, such as heroes, in the area to do so. As well, the fairies and other magical creatures look to them for guidance and leadership, as many are long lived in general. Some are even seen in a more dietific light, and might be a last resort to be called upon. It all simply depends on the specific cultures that magical creatures develop in an area.

Fountains! [Fairy fountains can be made by mortal means, and are actually quite common in the Era of Souls. Many are formed by simply leaving food out for the fairies around a body of water, preferably flowing. Preferred foods are fruits or sugary drinks and flowers if those do not grow around the fountain. The magic will never be as strong as when a great fairy is present, and it is inherently more dangerous for the fairies without a guardian, but it still serves as a comfortable home for most fairies to rest or live when options are limited. Due to the existence of fairy hunters, many mortal made fountains are needed to house injured fairies who are unable to travel to a great fairy's fountain. Some might never heal, others may and leave eventually. Many are built near places of great importance. They're commonly visited by travelers for healing and wishes of luck. Those who live nearby might visit simply to spend time with them. Most fountains have guards stationed with the fountain, though it depends on where these fountains are. The Gerudo have guards who volunteer to watch over the fountains in cities and a rotating watch at rest stops. These fountains will often be in more private areas of the city or town, most commonly public gardens, though its always accessible to those who wish to visit. Rito are much the same though they tend to keep theirs within their villages exclusively instead of near rest stops. For Hyrule it depends on the town and city. Some will simply leave the fairies be after the fountain is made, others have them locked in a gated garden though this is more common in larger cities, while small towns will often have a mutual understanding of protecting them without need for a guard unless suspicion arises, letting them float free and wherever. Gorons do not truly have these man made fairy fountains due to the heat evaporating most water though fairies will take up residence in hot springs quite often, protected from things due to the high heat of surrounding areas. The gorons will visit though thats more common of children to do so as the others are focused on their work. Those who often guard these fountains end up often baring the blessing of fairies and able to speak to magical creatures, though it just depends on one's own relationship with the fairies.]

About those I drew! Honestly the fully colored one is the one I drew first. The goal wasn't exactly water lily, just what I thought looked good, but that's what they ended up as. I also had an idea partially inspired by the Wind Waker's great fairies looking like actual spirits that a Great Fairy might actively part of the fountain or one with it, as in such as this case and in my third sketch of the water coming from them, appearing as though part of the dress. Since the Great Fairy's magic is what makes an actual magic fountain, in theory they'd be part of it! Or their fountain would mirror them more. Something along those lines at least lol. I get limitations in budget and graphics for games but I do think its a shame to not embrace the idea of them all being different. Like in botw there could be one inspired by the Gerudo for the one in the Desert (even with the limited number of plants, something neat could be done with voltfruit or warm darners) or one inspired by the Sheikah (the plants that let you sneak! make that fairy glow!). I do like that the Gerudo desert fairy is in the leviathan bones. I wish they'd done more with those. I want to go in and redesign them more in the future but until im done with my job I don't think that'll be happening until next month.

I gotta say, thank you Babbel1996 on the wikipedia page for the Tardis for always saving me. Every time I go to steal a Tardis reference, there they are! Anyway Tardis with stained glass! Let her be pretty! Let her dress up! I think she would fuck it up wit symbolism and stuff in her windows and it would make the Doctor either so happy to see their love all new and cool and/or annoy them to no end not understanding what she's saying Mine don't have much symbolism ngl. The most is, maybe, having Gallifrey there. To list them off its Moon, Sun, Gallifrey, Saturn (or Uranus depending on if I'm feeling fun), Mars, Pluto, Aurora because i was running out of planets I wanted to draw, and than moon again with the north star! She gets some stickers on her too for fun.

So!!! To make stuff clear, non feathered Doctor regenerates into feathered Doctor (also known as Wife #1) (both just get called Doc). In the fic I was writing, its almost exclusively the non feathered one thats featured, but its okay cause he still dresses like a gay parrot later in the fic.

Becoming more alien is a metaphor! yay! I saw puppygurll's designs and realized that since my whole point with the doctor regenerating was him accepting that he can rely on and find comfort in someone indefinetly now, he sort of subconsciously let go of what was keeping him as an acceptable looking human, at least for this regeneration, and he gets to be more alien. Basically unmasking. Except he gains feathers. And more obvious gender stuff.

Sort of like how (and I could be absolutely misremembering Dr Who, its been a bit) a lot of the Doctor's exuberance and over the top nature is, in part, an act in some of their regenerations. And that act absolutely falls and reveals how angry and scared they are underneath it all. But at the same time that whimsy and hope is also so integral to their character, so its a balancing act.

Anyway, he regenerates from gay 80s parrot into Miss Frizzle who bites people.

My first doctor is a he/him and is, indeed, mostly a guy. Regenerated Doc is a he/him but uses mostly feminine titles (Like... wife. i'm blanking on others oh no. uh. Donna calls him sister? He teaches science and history for a little bit for plot reasons and is called Miss Doctor by his students).

I drew him some alternate outfits because I wasn't happy with his and am realizing he has the exact same fit basically as my creepypasta oc and I am once again reminded that almost all of my characters in some way or another come from one another like I'm an evil scientist with a cloning factory. Maybe I'll draw a chart one day, that'd be fun.

The companions name is Cal, he is trans and actively didn't have a name until the doctor regenerated, and instead every day just got a new name. I love matching his name to whatever their adventure is. Fun possibilities! I want to note, because this is so important to me, that he does dress up to match the time period. Technically its the Tardis dressing him. But he does dress up. I am so sad more companions don't do this, but that's okay. Once again why I love Donna Noble so much but that is a long essay for another time. He also has dog tags (sometimes a collar, depends on what I'm feeling) that do just say Return to Doctor with some medical info on them that he can't read. One's in a universal translating language thing (Psychic paper... metal? Hmm.) The other is in galifreyan. This is specifically to fuck with the master. There's also a ring and I can't remember why he has that? I'm 70% sure its from my hangover episode chapter of the fic? I dunno! Mysteries for me to relearn!

Anyway the Doctors and Cal are all self inserts (kinda, once upon a time before they took on a life of their own) and in a polycule with the Tardis and thats how it is, I don't make the rules.
