Good grief. Between spending time at work and raising this new puppy at home, I've totally neglected promotions for any of the upcoming art events I'll be participating in this month. On the 19th, I'll have two pieces on display for a group show called VIRTUE + VICE @otcircus, an artists' take on the seven deadly sins and seven divine virtues. I'll also be contributing another pair of paintings to this year's @wearethiscity event, called United By Paint, in collaboration with the New Mexico United soccer team. The events are approaching quickly, so I'll be posting some in-progress shots of my works along the way. I had some time this morning to slide back over to Desert Valley Brewing Co. and “finish” the giant #octopus I started a few weeks ago. I got to spend the morning doing something that I haven’t done in a very long time: spray-painting a wall! One of my artist buddies extended an invite to help him cover some wall space at one of the local brewpubs in town. Since I’m currently on a week’s vacation, I took him up on the offer. The doors opened for business at 11am, so I had to cut the job short in order to avoid choking out today’s patrons. But for now, it’s a work-in-progress. I want to start this post off by acknowledging and thanking all the new followers: welcome to my #art feed! If it’s not already obvious, I’ve been absolutely terrible at updating my work progress and keeping my feed fresh. I mention this not to discourage anyone from further keeping tuned in, but more as a reminder to kick my own ass about keeping engaged with my friends and followers about my #artwork. New toy (on right), straight from #Japan. I love to work in small #detail, and I’ve never had anything smaller than 0.5 lead (which is what my #graphgear500 on the left is holding.) The #PentelOrenz holds a 0.2 size lead! Since there’s not a whole lot of strength to the super-thin lead, it’s extremely brittle, so it’s going to be tricky to lighten up my heavy-handed #drawing tendencies.
