If Daziel were ever to find a partner/lover that didn't betray him or leave him and they chose to sacrifice themselves for him - after his centuries of nothing but cruelity and loneliness:

He would break down. Emotionally, mentally. He would shatter. Fall into frenzy. And if he were not killed during the frenzy, he would find his way to a secluded beach and watch his first sunrise in several centuries, also his final. (He loves the beach/sea. It's the only way he can feel close to someone that he will always love, even though they are no longer in his life.)

Police say no connection to earlier deaths

Atlanta police are investigating the death of a 34-year-old man found early Tuesday behind a shuttered laundromat on Boulevard, the fourth body recovered in the Old Fourth Ward and Reynoldstown area since March.

The victim, identified by family members as Marcus Doyle Renfro, was found by a sanitation worker around 3:40 a.m. Officers responding to the scene described the death as consistent with the others: no signs of robbery, no defensive wounds, and what the medical examiner’s office called “significant blood loss inconsistent with visible trauma.”

APD spokesperson Officer Denise Wray said investigators are not treating the deaths as related.

“Each of these cases has its own circumstances,” Wray said. “We understand the concern in the community, but at this time there is no evidence linking these incidents to a single individual or pattern.”

Asked about the blood loss noted in at least two of the medical examiner’s preliminary reports, Wray said the department does not comment on details of ongoing autopsies. A source within the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case, said the wounds in question were small, precise, and located near major vessels in the neck or groin. The source described the pattern as “not something you usually see outside of an animal attack,” though no animal tracks or hair were recovered at any of the four scenes.

Neighbors in the area have grown increasingly uneasy. Loretta Simmons, who has lived two blocks from Tuesday’s scene for eleven years, said she no longer lets her teenage son walk home after dark.

“They keep saying it’s not connected,” Simmons said. “Four bodies in four months, all drained like that, and it’s not connected. Okay.”

Councilwoman Adrienne Okafor called for increased police patrols along the Beltline corridor and said she has requested a briefing from APD on the status of the investigation. Her office did not respond to a follow-up question about whether that briefing has occurred.

The medical examiner’s office has not released official cause of death for Renfro or the three prior victims, identified in earlier reporting as Karen Boetticher, 51; Dwayne Ashford, 28; and an unidentified man believed to be in his 60s, found in April near Oakland Cemetery.
