A vampire haunting the narrative of a town, and as more and more people “disappear”, it’s revealed these people left on their own terms, sick of being shackled with the church and their fear mongering and finally stepping out into the unknown. Definitely not without its downside, but much more authentic and freeing.

A character taking on a new identity with a completely different life, one that can be so beautiful and yet the people around them are so afraid about due to misconceptions and assumptions. They have to live out their life in forced isolation, constantly told to just “not drink blood” when it literally kills them not to do so.

Think about it. Something happens that completely rocks, the world of the main character, going from human to something else entirely, having to navigate a world in which other people can do normal things and do not accommodate for them. Having friends constantly excluding them because they can’t go in the sun, or eat or wear certain things, not being able to be around blood because it triggers their brain, being discriminated against just because of how their body works.

Think about it. So close to humanity, but so far away at the same time. Never quite acting right, never relating the same. Constantly needing to shift, needing paws and hooves and wings and scales and fur and feathers and claws and TEETH all the time.
