if this is not what you want, either go to your blog and click comments and disable it from there or just go to your individual blogs setting pages. just change it from blue to grey if you dont want everyone to see your replies AND the post you're replying to

PLEASE BE ADVISED that it is set to disabled for blogs that have not made any replies but it will turn ON if you reply with that blog in the future.! i just tested it with my main, which was greyed out but it turned on the moment i left a test reply

so couple of clarifications. comments are disabled as default for primary blogs that have their likes disabled. they are seemingly enabled for all other blogs that have replied to posts

I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!

From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!

I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.

Edit: Yes, this also works on mobile!

The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.

(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)

If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.

The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.

insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box

add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box

delete -> self explanatory

on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic

The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.

The Tolkien demands everything be explained, that every decision has a purpose, that everything makes sense, that all plot holes are filled, etc.

The anger is still there, the past is still there, but they have a common ground: Still mourning Shen Yuan

Meanwhile, Shen Yuan transmigrates later. He meets Luo Binghe on the streets and goes to Cang Qiong with him.

Shen Qingqiu sees him and his heart aches, so he snatches him up immediately. Not as a replacement. No. To knock him down for daring to look like Shen Yuan.

The tea ceremony goes... Bad. Very bad. He says his name and he gets tea dumped on his head and kicked out of the bamboo house.

But then Yue Qingyuan comes to visit him and he sees Shen Yuan. His heart aches as well, and he asks him to walk him to his Shizun's house.

He notices the similarities first. The way he talks when Yue Qingyuan brings up a subject that would have interested Shen Yuan, the way he moves his hands, how he looks like he wishes he coule bury his face in his hands and hide away wben he realizes he's been rambling.

"Xiao-Jiu, your new disciple-"

"What about him, Zhangmen-shixiong." Shen Qingqiu snaps and glances out the window where he sees Shen Yuan chittering with Luo Binghe and Ning Yingying.

"... You wanted him because he looks like... Him. I know. But Xiao-Jiu, he... I think there's a chance that..."

"A chance that WHAT. Use your words."

"I think that might... Be A-Yuan. He talks the same... I asked him some questions on the way, please shidi. Don't be unreasonable about this." He's so scared that Shen Qingqiu might hurt him and realize, and then regret it himself.

"Tch. You see him in everyone."

"I see very little of him in anyone in this world. He was one of a kind." Yue Qingyuan sighs. "Besides... I overheard him mutter that I reminded him of his Da-ge..."

"... Zhangmen-shixiong. I will not trust your words on this. But fine. I will not do anything the boy for now." He spits, angry that he could even suggest it and get his hopes up.

So Shen Qingqiu observes him. And he sees as well. So eventually he calls him to the bamboo house.

"Disciple Shen, this master has a question for you after observing you for a while."

"Y-Yes Shizun?"

"Do you recognize the saying 'You can you up, no can no bb'."

"... I- I do."

"Mn. And what of the phrase "PeerlessCucumber." He raises a brow

Shen Yuan does not want to answer that, but he nods a bit. "I um.. I do-"

"... And you were... Shen Yuan there too?"

"Yes Shizun."

"... San-di.." He whispers, breath hitching slightly in a moment of weakness.

"... San- San-di...?"

"... I'm calling for Zhangmen-shixiong."

Liu Qingge loses his memories of Shen Yuan. He only knows how Shen Jiu was and anything about a friendship, or a marriage with SQQ is gone. He doesn't even remember being saved by Shen Yuan.

He wakes up, all disoriented and having his least liked peak lord up in his space eyes shining and mother henning, he is confused to say the least.

When MQF comes in listing some medical jargon about his condition and then Liu Mingyan shows up all worried, QQQ following right behind her precious desciple. And then the Sect Leader shows up too. He feels a little overwhelmed. And suddenly SQQ is there, kicking everyone (himself included) but MQF out and yelling about LQG being uncomfortable, he just woke up ffs. Only Mingyan is entitled to be anywhere near right now.

And LQG is surprised because?? First why was SQQ there at all? And how was he the one to notice LQG's mood first? And why was he trying to help??

MQF explains everything with less medical jargon and tells him he has amnesia and it can only get better with time and being surrounded by the things and people who featured most in LQG's lost memories.

He gets allotted time with everyone he's gotten close to the past couple of years. And that includes SQQ.

(Binghe is fine-no abyss-if a little overprotective of his newly adoptive dad who is now sad that his husband doesn't remember him.)

So SQQ just sits there wife beaming everyone casually as he does, chatting with Liu Qingge and oh... Oh no. What are those? Feelings? For Shen Qingqiu?? No. LQG must be sick. Yes that's it.

(He unironically goes to MQF to ask. He's fine.)

LQG bursts into the private room Mingyan had reserved for them and goes:

"Please tell me I have not been engaged or married to anyone in the past three years!?"

LMY spits out her tea because what??

"What? Why are you asking??"

"I... I just need to know."

"Why?"

"I might have romantic feelings for someone..."

"WHAT!? But you're married! Who is it!?!?"

"Married?? To who?"

"WHO DO YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON!?"

"SHEN QINGQIU OKAY!?"

"..."

"..."

"Well you can't break the marriage off. It's going to cause a political incident (of LBH defending his dad's honor)."

"Damn it..."

"You literally met SQQ the way he is now twice, what made you fall for him so fast? Come, tell your dear sister everything."

And so an adventure begins of LQG trying to figure out who he's married to (no one would tell him), if there's a way to break it off, and wondering how to woo SQQ.

LQG going through the past three years' documentation, angrily muttering under his breath, "Whoever you are, I will fight you if needed, I'm marrying that lazy scholar whatever it takes!"

SQQ sneezes.
