The end of Time by AlicebanD is so climactic to me, so beautiful. I don't really understand the meaning of the song in its whole, but I relate to that last part. Especially "and time will lick your wounds". It's a sentiment I am quick to believe in. But I've also experienced it! When My Friends Left Me it was so scary, awful, I thought I would die everyday and that friendship was over. By the end of that month, though I felt freedom as I haven't felt for a very long time. I think I finally was staring to feel at peace with myself. I was afraid of it for long- and it was scary, mind. I did suffer. But it too went away. The time has passed anyway.
The lyric right after paints a very vivid image in my mind: "and hold you down and stop your breathing". I imagine a wild beast, much larger than you, pinning you to the ground and biting you in the neck. More importantly, this message reflects with me just as much if not more than the previous one. Firstly, the first lyric paints time as an animal of some sort, and one that will help you, the second one, however, reminds you that it is not merciful. I think I also just like the idea of dying, especially in that way. The intensity with which it is sung, and the melody do play their part, no doubt.
Time is something I'm always at odds with. Related to my depersonalisation Im sure. There is always somehow not enough time, and sometimes I feel each unrepeatable second passing by me, like sand trough my hands. Like I'm racing against the clock, when just living. Aways loosing time. Maybe it's tied to the fear of death that I always insist I don't have.
