have you guys seen this guy haunted daily by randomly placed white rugs on dream islands yet
he’s started posting daily rug sighting updates now
update: apparently he’s not the only one
(notice the timestamp on that photo was from march)
it doesn’t seem to happen to everyone
could you imagine if it happened this pride month

med people are so annoying "This family's 8 year old child who was about to go through a major surgery and kept crying that she was hungry so they pitied her and gave her food, she then had a heart attack in the surgery. They're so stupid 😒" girl they didn't know that could happen or why it happens. it takes so little time to explain to them that will happen instead of telling them "no food" with no explanation 10 times
"Before surgery, your body’s reflexes that protect your airway are relaxed by anesthesia. If there’s food or liquid in your stomach, it will near certainly come back up and go into your lungs, which can cause choking, a severe lung / heart infection or even a heart attack. That’s called aspiration, and it is life-threatening. It's hard, but it's only a single day to prevent near certain death. Not eating or drinking beforehand massively lowers the risk and helps prevent these life threatening situations under anesthesia." <- TIP: patients have brains which allows them to receive information just like you
I have four kids. I’ve had one or another of them need some kind of surgical procedure that requires anesthesia four or five times over the past 15 years.
This Tumblr post is the first time someone has explained to me *why* I couldn’t feed them before those instances.
I’m not stupid. I understood that just fine. Hell, my kids would have understood that just fine. But no one bothered to tell us.
i did know this before having kids (i have six). we have a kid that's needed multiple procedures requiring anesthesia. and every single time, i am asked multiple times if i'm sure he was not given any food or water after a certain point.
every single time i have had to say, "i understand that if he had food or water, he could aspirate it into his lungs under anesthesia. i am not lying to you." THEN someone would make a little note and i would stop being repeatedly asked.
not a single time was that risk explained to me. the only reason it came up was because i already knew. i still don't understand why it isn't standard pre-op counseling or pre-op check information, when me as a parent acknowledging the actual risk also put THE MEDICAL STAFF at ease because i conveyed that i had informed understanding as reason to not lie about giving my kid food.
"maybe some people will get nervous and refuse surgery" okay so they need more counseling about risks and anxiety, not less information in a way that actually does endanger their child or themselves!

alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

seeing beautiful women in low cut tops with boobs spilling out is good enough reason to stay alive
I think I've decided I'm a witch. Just not, you know, accredited.
idk if you can help me, or if this is an impertinent question from a nonblack person asking for musical enlightenment from a black person. but i pretty much exclusively listen to soundtracks, because lyrics have never been a draw to me in the least. so genres of music like rap and hiphop that DO rely more on lyrical talent than would be typical of other genres have been especially foreign to me. i have started to branch out more, and enjoy really manic artists like Oingo Boingo, Jhariah, and Will Wood. do you have any off-the-wall artist recommendations along those lines, or perhaps something more 'orchestral' like a soundtrack would be?
"impertinent" 🤣 What am I? A Duke? An Emperor? Ngl, I've never heard of a single artist you listed, but I'm listening to Jhariah's RISK, RISK, RISK as I'm writing this. I like it, so what you're talking about is polyrhythmic songs. Pieces that layer lotsa different sounds on top of each other. Most Rap and Hip-hop focuses on lyrical intensity over the beat itself, so many songs are sonically simpler in that regard. Having listened to two songs by Jhariah as I get to this point in my response, off the top of my head I'd say Kid Cudi would be a good fit for your sensibilities. And first I'd rec this recent song of his: Grave.
Next, try Bodies by Offset, JID. JID in particular is known for his unique flow, switching between rapping in thirds to fifths, meaning how many syllables one says over one beat in the song; thirds meaning three syllables on one beat. Rap is often thought as just talking over a beat, but there is a science to this art, if you wanna learn more I'd suggest watching a rap breakdown video, such as this one
Next Imma reccomend Like That by Future, Metro Bommin, Kendrick Lamar, only because I'm a hater and this song really started off that beef
I'd be remiss if I didn't put you on to Cash In, Cash Out by Pharrel Williams, 21 Savage, Tyler the Creator which has one of the coolest videos I've seen in recent years
Another JID song is 151 Rum, his flow really pushes the beat, mirroring its pace.
Next try out Sacrifices by Dreamville cuz I like it.
I think you'll like this song (How Could Anyone) Feel at Home by Open Mike Eagle and you might like his work in general
If you're looking for a more manic song there's HOPE by NF who's like a far less angry Eminem. This song in particular is polyrhythmic, polyphonic even.
And another obligatory whiteboy is Definition of a Rap Flow Contest Entry by Jarv who also raps in thirds (why is this title so long, lmao?)
Uproar by Lil' Wayne, Swizz Beatz cuz that's enough white rappers
Proud of U by Earthgang, featuring Young Thug
And of course the classic Touch It-Remix by Busta Rhymes. There's like four versions of this remix.
And that's all the audio posts that tumblr will let me put in one post
