I’m not kidding. This is the time to act. Yes I know it’s short notice , but so is Netflix trying to remove Rise without any heads up. Spread this! Repost it! Everywhere. And I mean, everywhere. TikTok, twitter, Reddit, insta, Facebook. Stream the show/movie all day tomorrow and Saturday. Let’s flash mob this!

My rapist was nonbinary and bi. My deeply Lutheran grandma was the first person to fully accept me as trans in my primarily liberal athiestic/agnostic family. Years ago my social life was ruined by another trans masculine person who intentionally destroyed all of my close friendships. One of my current closest friends is a cishet guy who has a friend group that is almost entirely populated of queer people because a bunch of his friends have come out around him since high school.

Every single person on this planet thinks about dark and taboo things. It's literally the most normal thing in the world.

You could name a character in a room with over 100 people, and get over 100 different perspectives on that same character

It's okay to disagree on headcanons, characterization and even canon itself, it's not okay to bash others for their own perspectives and how they themselves handle characters, though

People get very mad for a few days and then roll over and accept the change to the enclosure. This is what they are betting on. They have had meetings about this.

Go ahead and do the individual likes/reblogs/replies on each comment.

But every single iteration of the post should have the master aggregate notes at the bottom, all of which are attributed to OP and go to OP's activity.

That way OP of a piece of art or writing can in fact open any single iteration of the post, including the root post, and see and receive the full aggregate notes at the very bottom. And any single person who wants to see the full notes/tags/comments/etc can all do the same.

If other people agree maybe you can submit the idea too. I’ll try to track down what’s the appropriate feedback form and link it to this post.

Overall, the support page is supposed to be the correct place to submit feedback. You could either use 'Feedback' or 'Social features' in the category dropdown for this. I might suggest Social Features, actually, since Feedback is getting floooodded. It might actually get fresh eyes like that. If not there, then staff has said they closely watch the Changes blog and use the feedback from there to make decisions. That's repeated in their current most popular post, which is explicitly reacting to the negative feedback and currently telling us to give it a few days to get used to it first.

That's also extremely flooded (and the replies are more angry), but staff has specifically stated they are using feedback from that post to make future calls, so it's guaranteed to have eyes.

Funny enough, I had issues finding these comments, which I SAW in my activity feed, because when I went to my root post none of these comments existed. I had to go to my root post, go to MY second comment in the chain on the post (by digging it out of the notes), and THEN open the comments on THAT post to come find this.

I submitted feedback. I'll probably pepper this suggestion on the other feedback avenues over the coming days. (They're flooded now. Polite persistence probably carries weight here.)

"Hello! I have a suggestion that I think could be a reasonable middle ground on the Notes broken up by Reblog.

Just 2 modifications: 1] All iterations of a post continue to show an aggregate footer at the bottom with total replies, comments, and likes, from all chains. 2] All notes continue to go to the post's original author, as in show up in their activity, regardless of reblog chain.

With these two things, then the notes-per-reblog no longer cause problems!

All comments and replies would remain findable and engageable, via the aggregate footer at the bottom of the post. This is very important for ongoing engagement--people can only interact with replies if they can find them!

Users would NOT avoid commenting, because they can be assured in the knowledge their comment will no longer fracture the notes (aggregate footer covers that) and will no longer steal the post's engagement from the OP (OP receives all activity). I would not be afraid to comment "This art is amazing!" on someone's artwork, as I would not need to fear fracturing the reblog chain and taking their engagement. Avoiding commenting hesitance is so important as well, because engagement stands to plummet if users all hold their tongue to not "steal" a post.

Even right now, I'm struggling to find useful information on my own posts--posts which I know have comments and replies--because I cannot find which reblog has the replies. Finding comments means finding and stepping through all the comment chains of the entire post to even stand the chance to find what I remember seeing.

This is also making engagement look so small... Posts of mine with 50,000+ notes across different reblog chains and now so sparse and fractured and nearly impossible to sift through for information.

Please consider this suggestion!"
