#good ol classic #rewatched this recently and its still such an amazing movie

after trying so long to make sense out of the whole aerith-cloud-tifa relationships (digging into storylines, including the novels), ive come to a conclusion that Cloud is just another Shinji from NGE

Man is consistently mysterious and having inner conflicts, women are obsessed with him because “i can fix/help him”, he clings on them all at the same time because they all provide different kinds of love.

Cloud-Tifa can be similar to Shinji-Asuka that emphasise on crush/sibling love, while Cloud-Aerith is basically Shinji-Rei that involves motherly traits.

tldr its classic harem, and fandom constantly fighting about best waifu keeps the game alive and popular across decades. Always a success formula.
