Light a candle if desired and safe. Prepare your ingredients. Source them from as close to your home as possible. Today I am using psylocibin mushrooms grown by a friend in my state. Normal tea may be substituted without altering the ritual.

Prayer: "Earth, come to me, hold me in place while I ask to fly."

Heat enough clean water for your tea. Prepare your cup with the ingredients of your choice. I am using a local cinnamon-ginger tea with maple syrup for a fall flavor. I brew mushrooms on their own first, then add it to the cup with the tea.

Prayer: "Fire, come to me, fuel my journey and light my way home."

Pour the water. Stir, focusing on the round motion, letting it reverberate in your body.

Prayer: "Water, come to me, make me fluid and light for travel."

Sit or relax where you intend to begin your journey. Sip your tea. Recall the stirring motion and let it carry you upward, like a tornado.

Prayer: "Air, come to me, take me where I need to go and show me what I need to see."

Let the four elements become a drum beat in your mind as you drink your tea. Meditate on ways they interact with your life. Ask politely, and let them take your astral self on its journey. When you return, thank them for the knowledge or experience, blow out your candle, and wash your cup. Allow enough time between voyages to properly apply their lessons to your life.
