Just a random ramble, but the creeps have always grown up with me. When I got into them at age 11 they were around my age in my head, a little older. And then I made the blog when I was turning 19, and I made them all older than me, but now they’re not. Not all of them.
Like I was 19 and Jeff was 24, and now I’m 24 and he’s still 24 written on the blog. I almost feel like I should retcon their ages and make them older lol. Because he’s not 24 in my head anymore, but he is on the blog, despite being like closer to his 30s now in my head. It just feels strange to continue aging despite them having canon ages for the blog, even though they’re still aging with me in my head like they always have. I don’t know why this is making me feel so weird in my head??
I dunno. Random thoughts. It’s just weird to think about as a blog owner. I do honestly debate changing their ages sometimes, but I guess it’ll just be a mental thing. I mean even the Slender bros who are hundreds of years old wish I’d made older.
Am I the only one who thinks like this?? Who can say :p just wanted to voice this to the blog since it’s you guys who see my writing and my characters. Just missing when Jeff and the others were so much older than me because mentally they are and then I look at the blog and it’s like “Nah fam they’re your age now” and it’s an existential thought to have, ya know?
Announcement
Hello everyone! I am sorry to those of you who sent in requests that I never finished/responded to.
I will no longer be doing TMNT content!
For personal reasons, I just don’t feel comfortable doing them anymore.
Thank you.
every writing tip article and their mother: dont ever use adverbs ever!
me, shoveling more adverbs onto the page because i do what i want: just you fucking try and stop me
May I add something, because I will never shut up about this book (Writing Tools by Roy Peter Clark):
Finally, some good fucking advice
[Image Description]
Two highlighted selections from the referenced book. They read:
To understand the difference between a good adverb and a bad adverb, consider these two sentences: “She smiled happily” and She smiled sadly". Which one works best? The first seems weak because “smiled” contains the meaning of “happily”. On the other hand, “sadly” changes the meaning.
Remember the song “Killing Me Softly”? Good adverb. How about “Killing Me Fiercely”? Bad adverb.
Look also for weak verb-adverb combinations that you can revise with stronger verbs: “She went quickly down the stairs” can become “she dashed down the stairs.” “He listened surreptitiously” can become “He eavesdropped.” Give yourself a choice.

PSA
Just a heads up, there are bots going around on AO3 accusing people of using AI. Considering the timing, this is likely AI bros' retaliation for AO3 users calling them out for scraping their work. Examples of what you might be sent:
Screenshots from here.
If you get a comment like this, just report for spam and delete.
This happened to me on Monday! Just to note, they seem to be using the usernames of real AO3/Tumblr users, which is creepy and upsetting, and also a weird way to sow discord in our communities.
As a fanfic writer, this makes me sick.
Letting me readers know about this nonsense. Don't bother with engaging if you get something like this, do as the OP says and continue to write.
This is incredibly disdainful

hello writers.
how do you write your fic / original story / whatever the hell
one document, dedicated planning section and writing section
one document, planning is randomly scattered throughout the chapters
one planning document, one writing document
one planning document, individual documents for each chapter
some ungodly cacophany of random notes and chapters via an app like Obsidian
same as above but actual content is in a dedicated location you can find
"my obsidian vaults are organised, actually" you are lying but okay.
results/wildly nuanced answer in tags/like i'd tell YOU, skeleton boy!

the look of love (for writers)
"it's all in the eyes i was once told"
catching the stare of someone across a crowded room
subtle furrowing of eyebrows beyond a blank facade
coldness easing into warmth
a fond mothering gaze
corner of the lip nudged upward
forced glower/glare as they break underneath
batting their lashes, playful
a boisterous laugh
intrigue piercing the stoic
proud smugness at the other's success
lingering glances
a childish joy bursting through
pupils dilate
eyelids shut in a look of peace, calm and trust
look of longing/betrayal
"there was once a time when they were mine"
terseness
features fold into a scowl
an urgent flinching back
coldness returns (as though the warmth had never come)
lips part then purse
invasion of shock
slow stare at the floor
the ripple effect of a swallow
frustrated breath/sigh
bitter laugh in reminiscence
dread tearing through the seams of their composure
look of hatred
"darkness"
mean smirk- teeth bared grimace- scowl
dismissive gaze
gaze of contempt/impatience
threat lowering the voice
sardonic goading grins verging on manic
rolling one's eyes
flicker of irritation in the eyes
stares stubbornly ahead despite distraction
gritted teeth, clenched jaw
fierce biting remarks
even measured complexions betraying no thought
strangling oneself back from violence
utter apathy
murderous silence hanging in the stare
snobbish laughter
smiling at another's downfall

happy october 3rd to those who celebrate
It’s October 3rd!!!
I know x Readers are all in good fun but there is a specific plot device for TMNT that I think is a bit overused at this point. Now I say this as someone who is guilty of doing this, but I think we all could use some fresh material to work with. So without further ado...
TMNT x Reader prompts that DO NOT INVOLVE WATCHING A MOVIE!!
Enjoying a meal together = Dinner Date / Homemade Pizza Night / Late night snacking
Book/Comic Club
Tabletop/Video Games Night
Power goes out (No electricity) = Horror Stories / Shadow Puppets Shows/ Navigating the dark together
Self defense training/General Workout Session
Drinking Games = Never Have I Ever / Beer Pong / Paint and Drink / Naughty Drinking Games
Tending to injuries (Turtles or Readers)
Cleaning readers space/their space
Karaoke
Craft Night
Messing with the other brothers (Pranks)
Winding down for bed = Sleepover forts / Body/Hair care routines / Making up the guest bed(room) / Conversing/Cuddling to fall asleep
Waking up the turtles = Making them breakfast / Being their personal alarm / Consulting/Consoling them after a bad dream
And that's what I got! Hopefully this helps anyone who's stuck on ideas! If anyone wants to add to this feel free! And if you make something based off these prompts, please tag me!! I'd love to see it! 💖
