Me drawing this having only seen the movies thinking of it as vaguely ooc ship art vs me now reading the books realising nothing i draw will ever be more intimate than what tolkien wrote of his own accord🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️

Also i love love love that little scene where frodo complains that sam's pack is too heavy. The whole section where frodo is walking with pippin and sam is great because you see theres a real difference between how pippin treats sam (not unkindly, but he talks down to him, and orders him around despite sam not even being in his employ. Not cool pippin🤨) and how frodo treats sam (while still frequently using imperative language, he makes deliberate moves to equalise the relationship - perfectly illustrated by the pack interation - and never talks down to him in the same manner.)

Tolkien uses the word "queer" in lord of the rings at a FAR higher frequency than bram stoker uses "voluptuous" in dracula and thats all im gonna say on the matter
