Unibyte with not only a Scourge rivalry but also rivalries with UT Sideways and the BW Neo Blentrons (Latolata, Elphaorpha, Drancron).
I'm gonna use this ask to give you even more lore about the specific characters I'm going to use and their relationship with Sky-Byte because you deserve it ✨✨.
Existing Heralds in other medias are going to be included in this AU except for Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, Nemesis Prime, and evil Rodimus (forgot his name) because I want to include some more obscure (probs not the right word) characters instead.
Ok first off, Scourge is like the main one. He's the most capable out of all the Heralds, allowing him to be Unicron's Second in Command. Whenever the Heralds are out on a mission, he is the one they are supposed to listen to. Not much is known about his early years except for the fact that he used to be a Decepticon. Scourge is known for being cold, ruthless, and calculating. He's a damn good fighter, and he always leaves ruin wherever he goes. However, he is also extremely possessive over the things he likes, and that includes Unicron. When Sky-Byte came into the picture, Scourge initially didn't see him as a threat until Unicron started to pay more attention to Sky-Byte after a mission led by him was successful. Feeling threatened, Scourge then attempted to redraw his Master's attention by also going out on a mission, but it ended up failing miserably. Because of this, Scourge resents him deeply and is currently waiting for the right moment to dispatch him once and for all. To simply put it, their dynamic is basically their RID01 counterparts' personalities but switched (aka Scourge gets a taste of his own medicine).
Ok onto Sideways. Prior to the war, he was a notorious con artist known for cheating people out of their money and running away. Because of this, he made a lot of enemies and was even imprisoned for it. When the war broke out, the prison he was in got attacked, and so he escaped. Knowing that he had enemies on both the Autobot and Decepticon sides, Sideways took to hiding out instead, becoming a Neutral in the process. Around that time, he ended up being lured down underground by Unicron's calls for help and later agreed to serve him since he had nowhere else to go. However, he was never able to truly gain Unicron's approval due to him constantly being under Scourge's shadow, leading to him harboring resentment to the Herald's Second in Command. Things didn't get any better when Sky-Byte came into the picture and started taking Unicron's approval for himself. While he also wants nothing more than to kill Sky-Byte himself, something about the shark scares him, and he doesn't know why. Sideways's personality is a mix of his Armada and Cybertron counterparts. While he's mostly a very serious mech, he likes music and can often be heard singing when he's not actively engaging in battle.
Regarding the BW Neo Blentrons, they are by far the most dangerous to cross. They were the first to become Unicron's Heralds during his Prime and ended up dying alongside him after being defeated by Primus. Their bodies ended up being buried and left long forgotten on the surface of Cybertron until Unicron managed to regain his consciousness. Because of the fact that they had injected themselves with Dark Energon eons ago, Unicron was able to resurrect them. Feeling that their Master was alive somewhere, the three Blentrons dug underground for days until they reached where Unicron's consciousness was located, even building the Shrine that would later be used to initiate new Heralds. Much like Sideways, they initially also had disdain for Scourge since he normally got all of Unicron's approval (which really pisses Latolata off immensely), and so when Sky-Byte came into the picture, they got even more angry. However, instead of planning his murder like the others, the three Blentrons have a plan of their own. Taking advantage of the rivalry between Scourge and Sky-Byte, they are going to try and get Sky-Byte on their side so that way they can use him to kill Scourge. Then they will kill Sky-Byte and secure Unicron's approval for themselves. The only problem is that Sky-Byte is not as stupid as they thought he was. The three Blentrons personality traits are reminiscent with their BW Neo counterparts.
Onto random other characters I'm going to add:
First up is ROTB Battletrap. Like most of the Heralds, he used to be a Decepticon before being lured away from his team by Unicron's calls for help. He's easily the most noticeable of the bunch due to his rather loud and destructive personality. Not a lot of people like him, but he really doesn't care. Unlike everyone else, he's relatively neutral when it comes to Sky-Byte.
Nightbird is a special case because she is the one of the few characters that I am going to use that has an existing counterpart in Cyberverse. In her case, she's part of the rare few that did not use to be a Decepticon. Instead, she's a former Mercenary. She's known for being the personification of the phrase silent but deadly with her impressive assassin skills and prefers to pledge her allegiance to those who are the most capable of leading. She has no opinion on Sky-Byte whatsoever.
Shatter from the Bumblebee movie is also going to be added because we need more women. Like Nightbird, she is an excellent assassin though she does prefer to hand off most of the dirty work to anyone else if she can. Due to her superior negotiation skills, she's often the ones who attempts to make contact with those that live on the planets they go to in order to extract any information from them regarding the Anti-Spark. Regarding Sky-Byte, she finds the rivalry between him and Scourge amusing.
Lowkey her and Nightbird have evil yuri potential so let me know if you wanna see that.
Other notable characters that are going to be included are the Coneheads (Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust), Cyclonus, and Bludgeon. All of whom were former Decepticons.
The Coneheads in particular served under Starscream and his Seekers. However, they ended up defecting because Starscream would constantly blame them for his failures. They ended up joining the Heralds shortly after being found by Scourge. Most of the time, they're out on surveillance and recon missions out in space. As such, they don't know who Sky-Byte is, nor do they really care about what he's doing.
Cyclonus, on the other hand, operated as a former aerial warrior for Megatron (despite him serving Galvatron canonically in like G1 and IDW but shhh). During the war, he ended up being enamored by an Autobot named Tailgate. However, Megatron found out about it and sought out Tailgate himself on the battlefield just to kill him. While Cyclonus wasn't there to witness his murder, he did end up being presented with his severed helm (cygate angst go brrr), leading to him defecting from the Decepticons shortly after. For days, he carried Tailgate's helm in grief before being kidnapped by the Blentrons, unaware that he had trespassed onto their territory. After meeting with Unicron, he decided to join the Heralds after being promised with justice for Tailgate's death. Over the years, he has become very much disillusioned with reality and more of a nihilist which contrasts greatly with the fact that he's serving a literal god. Because of this, he doesn't care about Sky-Byte too much.
Lastly Bludgeon who is another exception to using characters that already exist in Cyberverse. In this AU, he's a spy for Unicron, gathering Decepticon data on the many planets located around both near and far from Cybertron that they can go ransack for the Anti-Spark. He's completely mute, preferring to let his actions speak for themselves. Out of all the Heralds, Bludgeon is the only one Sky-Byte is able to recognize though they never really worked together. Bludgeon, in particular, finds Sky-Byte suspicious, but he's not going to rat him out to Megatron.
Any more characters I should add? I want more female/genderqueer characters, but I'm not sure who to pick.
