its not that fiction doesnt have its place, its important and healthy to exercise the imagination, but non-fiction can do so much to boost and supplement that. if not for yourself, for your art or for the people you're around

One of the stranger things I have cooked - a stew that consists mostly of walnuts, eggplants and... ice cubes? It's a traditional dish though, not some hipster creation that's "different to be different". Alright, it's Persian, it HAS to be good, I thought.

I had to try twice with this because I burned the walnuts on my first attempt. Fortunately I had been using walnut flour I had gotten 20% off for being near its expiration date, so it wasn't that big a loss.

The result does taste good! It's surprisingly hearty, it's not sweet and doesn't taste like dessert. The thing is though, it's mostly a thick liquid and every bite tastes the same. If I were to make it again, I'd maybe cut the eggplants into bigger chunks to break the uniformity a little, or add some non-pulverized walnuts or a second onion. Or maybe some barberries, which are always good in Persian food.

You just gotta unclog the pipe. Are you dumb now? No. The water was sitting stagnant because you were busy doing other things (100% fine btw). If any 'dumb' got in the water then it will quickly leave once you let the water start flowing again. Go get all the stupid out into a doc that doesn't matter. Even several of them. It might take a good while, especially if you're returning to writing after years or after a period of intense burnout, or both (waves). But you're just rusty, and letting that stop you will only ensure you stay stuck! Go forth and write some nonsense!
