The plan from now on is to do maybe 30 minutes of animation work a day after work, finalise and colour backgrounds on weekends and if all goes well we'll have a final version this year!

I just want to clarify- you mean "work for 30 minutes on animation" and NOT "complete what will be 30 minutes of animation" right??
My brain heard the latter first as I was reading, and my heart JUMPED out of my skin. I am 99.999% sure that is just plain Not possible by 1 person, in 1 day, after a full workday. Right? I just wanna make sure.
Oh god if I could do 30 minutes of animation a day no-one would be safe! Have no fear - I am working on it roughly 30 minutes after work most days to keep up some momentum

I maintain that the best summation of my feminist beliefs are that men and women are not fundamentally different. There are a few quantifiable differences if you average out every woman and every man, but they are not qualitative. And most of them are socially constructed, and would be fixed if we started treating men and women the same. Neither is inherently smarter, neither is inherently kinder, neither is inherently more stoic or stronger or angrier or softer. Everyone is obsessed with the differences between women and men, with finding them and creating them and distancing themselves from the "other half". It's fucked up
It has been twelve years since someone told me that "women wearing sneakers instead of heels are trying to defy basic biological differences between the genders" and I have thought about it maybe once a week since
But seriously though. Learning to draw fat people will make you a much better artist. Understanding how skin and fat behaves and folds in certain poses, and being able to adapt complex poses to fit a fat body (as usually references are with thin models) will help you TREMENDOUSLY. Drawing fat being properly affected by gravity will aid you in ALL figure drawing in the future. Like if you have any sort of interest in drawing humanoid figures (AND furries) you really ought to learn how to draw fat of all kind.
