what “dumbass lesbian” means: i grew up thinking that not only was any woman experiencing any sort of sexual feeling was sinful, but that my specific attraction made me a monster. i changed in the corner of the locker room refusing eye contact with everybody around me. i wouldn’t touch another girl at all, even in a platonic sense, and could barely even look at them. so yeah now as an adult i struggle to pick up flirting signals, even when they seem obvious to everybody else, cause i’ve been so thoroughly taught that i’m disgusting and not worth anybody’s time.

Society tries to police how Women behave and present ourselves by mocking us, belittling us, shaming us, or asking us what people will think of us. 

telling women to “stay in STEM!!!(/academia in general)” is completely useless if the men in academia still aren’t taught not to disrespect women in academia, harrass them, devalue them, abuse them.
