I think people are missing out on some very funny aroace discovery shenanigans. Imagine Grace's previous partner being annoyed that Grace is treating them like a REALLY good friend instead of a romantic interest and sexual partner and having his "head in the clouds". And Grace still in the events of the movie not realizing that theyre aroace and thats probably why the relationship fell through, because she was looking for something else in a partner.

Like this absolute ditz of a man is confusing every person he reels in with his absolutely lovely being. He has everyone in the movie at some point going, "What are we?" Lmao. Something about the concept of being "unattainable" being incredibly attractive to a lot of people.

I truly don’t want to sound like a pedant, but I guess I don’t understand how this is giving credit. Because what if people know which pieces of culture originated from Black communities, but still use them/wear them/listen and so forth? Thats where the giving credit idea is lost to me, because I would think stating where it came from would become devoid of meaning like white people giving land acknowledgements, if that makes sense?

an example would be how most (if not all) dance trends on tiktok come from Black people. you’ll see the creator’s video, then a hashtag is created when it becomes a trend, a dance challenge with users from all over doing the dance. and in the captions of all those tiktok vids, you’ll see the name of the creator who created the choreography for the trend. that’s giving credit.

also let’s say, academically, you wanted to write an essay or speak publicly about intersectionality in feminism. i expect to see Black women like patricia hill collins & kimberlé crenshaw given credit.

music genres like jazz, hip-hop, r&b, blues, country, gospel, rock, etc were created by Black americans. i’m pretty sure you’ve seen nonblack music artists give credit to the Black artists that have influenced the way they sound.

I am once again begging people to realize that AI checker doesn’t work. it’s never worked. it’s notoriously known to have flagged human-made works as AI and AI-generated works as human-made. and by feeding it people’s works, you are feeding more works to AI, because apparently the machine itself is AI.

none of these belong to ai. these are all what human writers have been writing since day one, way before ai was invented. ai was trained to mimic how human writers write — so em dash, not x not y but z and short sentence stacking would never have been used by ai at all if ai hadn’t learned and mimicked them from human writers.

no, you are not “fighting against ai” by accusing every work that has em dash, not x not y but z or short sentence stacking in it as ai-generated, you are helping ai harm the writing community by engaging in witch hunt and scaring human writers away from creating/sharing their works for fear of being wrongly accused of using ai.
