What good behavior can you expect out of a character that has been dealt nothing but wrongs?

Eclipse has no reason to be kinder.

Eclipse spent a year abandoned in somebody's head watching a version of himself live a better life.

Eclipse has always been treated bad. So why expect anything else.

Eclipse has never treated anyone good. So no one will expect him to treat anyone good.

Eclipse will always be snarky towards moon and others because he is not expecting them to treat him any better.

Moon caused eclipse pain. Never once did he apologize for it.

Copy Eclipse still hasn't gotten his apology.

Eclipse's only goal is to figure out why he is alive. Presumably to make it so he cannot be alive ever again.

Eclipse did not want to be alive. Neither do I think the fandom did.

Eclipse is going insane due to the fact that he is essentially a zombie that keeps coming back. Each time lesser and lesser then their original self

Eclipse might be believing his insanity is normal. No one else is helping him with it. And only uses it as a slur.

Eclipse possibly has thought of reckless suicide attempts.

Eclipse is totally on board dying.

Eclipse might be angering moon to get him to lash out purposely. To trigger the bomb.

Crimes unrightfully stacking against copy eclipse who did not do them only remember.

Crimes of OG Eclipse should be there's alone.

Crimes of backup Eclipse should be there's alone.

Crimes of copy Eclipse should be there's alone.

Copy eclipses only crime is remembering the previous crimes and kidnapping ruin. The only other bad thing he does is spit threats.

Moon has essentially pinned every crime from the previous eclipses onto copy Eclipse. Putting him on a death sentence because of those crimes. And making him do manual labor or else he will expedite that death sentence.

Moon's behavior has improved very little. His behavior has best improved towards sun and closer friends. Any other behavior has stayed relatively the same.

Moon has always wanted eclipse dead. Never once was him disappearing good enough.

Moon will continue to think he is in the right because he is "always right".

Moon and Sun have continuously laughed at the villain's faults. In eclipses case it is laughing about insanity. Something caused out of mistreatment and abandonment. Something they caused.

Sun and Moon have used eclipses insanity and madness as a slur against him.

Moons abuse is worse and has stayed longer than eclipses abuse.

Sun has spent at least 8 years being abused by old moon. Enough that it has lasted even after his death.

Eclipse's harassment towards sun was never really personal. It was personal towards moon. Sun was just the easy way to harm him.

Lunar only spent a month of physical abuse under eclipse.

Eclipse's harassment towards lunar was only out of fear of losing his victory.

Never once did eclipse ever really treat lunar as a brother. He only used it as a word to compare themselves to Sun and Moon.

The fandom is ignoring moons wrongs in order to support the protagonist.

The fandom is letting this mistreatment slide despite the majority of the characters encouraging it. Believing Eclipse's mistreatment is the only way for eclipse to have a redemption.

Expecting redemption is unlikely. Eclipse has no reason to change. And sun moon have no reason to not hate him because of such.

There is not many scenarios without breaking character where they want to help eclipse get better.

Eclipse has been called an evil entity by magic people. Making his fate clear on a destiny level.

Moon wants him dead.

Sun wants him dead.

Lunar want him dead. So he can no longer see or worry about him.

Monty wants him gone.

Solar doesn't have an opinion because he's following Moon.

Earth doesn't believe he can change because he is too stuck in anger.

Ruin is scared of him due to his kidnapping. Also multiple outlash believing he is his creator.

Puppet finds eclipses torment hilarious.

Freddy has called eclipse an evil entity he wants gone.

Loss of a villain. The only replacement we have been offered is Sun and Moon themselves, and this mysterious entity that we do not care about.

They have shelved blood moon because making him a worse villain backfired. They changed the character too much and made the protagonists too misunderstanding of them.

They are doing the opposite of blood moon with eclipse. But they are attempting to stay in character. Making a muddled directive.

They are dragging Eclipse into the sympathy card and making their own protagonist bad guys by doing so.

They are failing to make the villains sympathetic, Because Sun and Moon are just as bad. Eclipse is unable to outcompete the bad.

This is a cycle of abuse. Eclipse will never forgive Moon, and at this point believes there is not going back. Moon will never forgive eclipse, and believes that eclipse will never change. Both are too prideful to let go.

Allow me to add some points of my own:

I do agree with the fact that Eclipse has been dealt with nothing but wrong since the day he was GOD D*MN born, which is honestly the worst thing someone can do in my opinion.

The only good thing that happened to the OG Eclipse was Lunar, and he probably unintentionally f*cked THAT up because of the generational trauma that Old Moon (and possibly The Creator if Old Moon's behavior either before or during the Vanny Virus incident is anything to go by), ignited.

I admit, I don't want Eclipse to die AGAIN, NOT because I'm a simp, but because I actually feel BAD for the constant abuse that both the Showrunners, the side of the fanbase that hates Eclipse MORE than necessary, and the simps who probably don't really care for him personally, put him through.

I do agree with the fact that New Moon is just pinning EVERYTHING the past TWO Eclipses had done on him because he has a very "Rules are Black and White" mindset which I now F*CKING hate.

Here's the thing... I USED to like New Moon, even thought he was better than Old Moon. But then the Showrunners made him a complete asshole that's just constantly verbally abusing everybody, even Sun.

Old Moon was ACTUALLY developing as a character, and I won't deny that he abused Sun, but at least he didn't expect saying a simple "I'm sorry" to fix the problem. And he wouldn't have treated any of their enemies like some rabid animal that needs to be put down.

I don't think Sun REALLY wants Eclipse dead. I think he's only agreeing with New Moon due to becoming afraid of him and believing that he doesn't, he'll immediately see Sun as evil and might either trap him on the island like Old Moon did with the Magic Box, or even pull the same thing he did on Ruin, possibly killing him in the process.

And I HATE the fact that the Showrunners forced this idea of Earth NOT wanting to help Eclipse change. Like, the WHOLE point of her character is to give therapy to the Celestial Group so the Showrunners don't have to make actual therapist-like characters to help the mains.

I BARELY watch all of the episodes anymore due to the formulas that the Showrunners have created:

More Drama equals More Moolah.

Can't traumatize them anymore? Just kill them, not like anyone will care about them.

Make out of pocket humor like Solar saying a Jeffrey Dahmer reference, and don't think about the backlash (that one's still got me f*cked up to this DAY)

That’s not to say we shouldn’t make our voices heard, we definitely should continue to fight tooth and nail against this, especially because this bill shouldn’t have even gotten this far, but we’re just stressing each other out by panicking. There’s time, we can fight this, we won’t take it lying down.

I got an email back from my senator about the email I sent telling her to stop kosa and she sent back a reply about why its good.

You may have heard of KOSA. But in case you have not, it is a bill that is supposed to ‘keep children safe’ by regulations what is seen and isn’t seen on the internet. It will not work out like that, I’m telling you. The bill will be used and abused by those who want to clamp down on free speech. Bad news, and especially for those in Palestine, Ukraine, and for members of the LGBTQ community, opposition parties, and other marginalized groups.

Also, several high profile cases are to be heard by the Supreme Court, regarding whether states can censor what appears on the internet. Considering some of the other recent rulings, I’m not that hopeful that they will reach a sensible decision.

As you know, I have moved across the country for a new life. I'm in the process of getting a new job but unfortunately it will take up to two weeks for them to process my drug screen and background check. I have bills due and I'm donating plasma tomorrow so my phone bill won't be due! For now, I'm opening emergency commissions which is $20 for 10k words! Eclipse: What did I do to deserve this. Wandering around endlessly looking for something. Anyone. Just to figure out why I'm alive. Why am I alive. For some universes big joke!

*Eclipse screams at the sunset. Hands raising to cover his face. Almost pulling on his rays.*

Eclipse: Hahaha. Brought back over and over and over again just to be some villain. For what? To get revenge on a dead Moon! The original me had a reason. The backup me was just trying to finish the previous ones work. What am I supposed to do?! We got what we wanted. That want is gone now. All that's left is to get revenge on the moon. Which we've already done over and over! We had a chance to kill him, and we didn't. Why couldn't I just say dead!

*Eclipse collapses on the ground. Pulling on his rays. A sad scowl on his face. Clearly trying to not cry and stay angry.*

Eclipse: Why am I alive! Why! Is this some sort of purgatory punishment!? Am I only being brought back so I can fail again! I know what I did to Sun was wrong. I know I shouldn't have hurt lunar. I didn't know what else to do though! He abandoned me! I spent a year locked up in somebody's head. Who wouldn't be angry! I wanted him to pay! I wanted to destroy the life he left me for. I hurt sun so I could get back at it. And then I hurt lunar cuz I didn't want to let go! I wanted Moon to pay forever! I shouldn't have done it! I shouldn't have hurt him. Backup shouldn't have gotten revenge for the original. I don't even know if he knew what he was doing at that point.

*Eclipse brings up his knees and buries his face. Hands pulling and covering his rays.*

Eclipse: I haven't done anything. Not really. I don't even know if backup did anything more than kill lunar. Original did the rest. Original did everything and we're paying for it. All I did was kidnap ruin and lay some threats. All I know is what I remember. I didn't do anything! Yet I'm the one who pays! I'm again locked up because of moon. I'm being tormented all over again because of moon. Why do people side with him! Do they not know what he did! The cycle is just repeating. I'm only resentful because other versions of me are resentful. I don't have a reason to, but this is a good goddamn reason! Death would be better than this!

*Eclipse starts to sob. Unable to speak. Only repeating the he didn't do anything. Why is he paying for others. Why is the moon like this. Interrupted by a ringing phone.*

Moon: Hey bitch get your ass over here.

*Eclipse doesn't answer. Trying to compose himself. Letting out an audible shutter as he tries to breathe.*

Moon: Oh what. Did I catch you crying? Really? What a joke. Boohoo for you, You got what was coming. Now move!

*Eclipse doesn't move. Attempting to wipe tears.*

Moon: I said get up jackass! If you don't cooperate I will kill you! I don't care about whatever the fuck you're going through. You're now under my thumb, and I'm not going to give a shit! Get over here, Now!

*Eclipse finally stumbles up. Finally answering.*

Eclipse: I'm coming.

Moon: Finally! I don't need you being a cry baby stopping with our search. Get over here and be quick. I'll kill you otherwise.

I took screenshots of it from messages with a friend (with perms from them ofc) because I’m not about to retype it all and I think the words expressed in the heat of the moment do this topic way better justice than I could now that I’ve calmed down. I also want to state that some of the things I say may be a little off as I have not watched the older tsams episodes for awhile and I’m going off memory here so please do correct me if I’m seriously wrong about anything but I just needed to get this off my chest.

AGAIN: I am not defending or condoning the terrible things Eclipse has done nor am I saying it’s okay just because he has trauma because it’s not, but I do think we need to look at the bigger picture here and take into consideration Eclipse’s side of the story and how deeply it has affected and swayed him (and the fact that current Eclipse is a NEW PERSON WITH OLD MEMORIES that belong to another version and that new moon and old moon are not as much heroes of the story as some preach them to be).

Moon is frustrated with [clone] Eclipse for being some kind of uncontrollable/violent maniac that Moon is now effectively responsible for.

But Moon himself has been just as cruel as whoever brought Eclipse back to life. He screams and threatens, treats Eclipse like a dog, electrocutes him. [Which is probably triggering because of Bloodmoon's earlier torture.] Offers him nothing for his help except the slim chance that he MIGHT be allowed to live once they figure out who brought him back. [And is then seemingly surprised that his hostage is angry and uncooperative.]

I was fully expecting Eclipse to throw it back in Moon's face. How does it feel to be responsible for controlling a maniac who might hurt the people you care about? Someone who would gladly kill or injure you if they had the opportunity?

Because isn't that what Sun had to do when he and Moon were one? It could be said; that this is New Moon, HE didn't do those things to Sun. His previous self did.

And yet... this Eclipse is not the same one that did all the terrible things he's being punished for either.

At this point, the only "wrong" thing this Eclipse did was kidnap Ruin and didn't even hurt him.

Meanwhile, New Moon be constantly verbally abusing both Eclipse and Ruin (and Sun a bit), treating Eclipse like he's some rabid dog that he wants to put down himself, and CONSTANTLY just says "sorry" and expects everyone to forgive him just like that.

To all of those people who say that Sun can drink alcohol, I'm here to tell you one thing:

With such serious mental disorder as Sun has, he shouldn't drink alcohol.

Before someone tell me that he's robot so it doesn't matter, he sounded intoxicated when Moon and Solar went to check on him which implies it has an effect on him. So it matters.

And I'm very ashamed of all adults in this fandom who act like it's all fine.

No one who suffers from disorders with psychotic features or schizophrenia or shizoaffective disorders should drink alcohol.

Also you shouldn't drink daily to relax because it can lead to a development of alcohol addiction.

And no one should drink a bottle of wine a day because it's great risk to your health. Both physical and mental.

Another thing to note is that it seems that some people forgot that show implied that Sun most definitely has some sort of psychosis. And people who think that Sun can't have any other disorder alongside GAD are completely wrong.

Please, people educate yourselves on mental health first before you start talking nonsense.

Like, I'd get it if it was like one or two, maybe three if you need it, a WEEK, but not every single day.

And I get that he's an animatronic and pretty tall so he probably wouldn't suffer from alcohol poisoning, but I feel like he's the kind of guy that has a light tolerance for alcohol, which is why I'm kind of scared for him.

They're claiming to be for kids' mental health, but I promise you THEY'RE NOT. They're aiming to remove access to LGBTQIA+ support, suicide prevention, and other humanitarian issues.

I will likely leave Tumblr, not due to hating the site or people here but due to the restrictions the bill would give. I want to state how thankful I am for the community I have found myself in. I appreciate every like, comment, reblog, tag, follow, and mutual I get.

If the bill is passed I may not be the best at it, but I will attempt to remember every kind word and action the people on this site have done for me. I hope everyone a wonderful time despite how this bill could affect everything.
