As somebody who has gone through a lot of theraoy it is very. Funny. To me that people say Castle Town is bad forTemna and heβll be miserable there because of that one scene with King in the jail. When the chapter 5 peek we got showed that heβs actually beginning to address his trauma due to his relationships with the darkeners in Castle Town (Small Mike calling him out for being a bad boss leading to Tenna finally vocalizing that his feelings about Spamton arenβt anger or hate, but GRIEF). Like, to heal from trauma or begin coping with mental illness, you need to be uncomfortable sometimes. You are mever going to heal if youβre not willing to address the problem. Tenna having a bad interaction does not mean he should literally throw away all his past relationships to run away from his problems and any hurt he might have caused so he can continue to subjugate humself to lightners. Mettaton talking nice to Tenna doesnβt change that he is still an object to him, at the end of the day.
I'll add that anger is one of the ways grief manifests, but yeah, in the cutscene, Tenna is finally starting to admit that he's grieving and address the feelings he has been running from and burying before then. He finally acknowledged that he cares about Spamton and misses him, and almost fully admitted that he feels like Spamton's disappearance was his fault. And he needed to admit it before he could start to address it.
He also acknowledged that what happened with Spamton is likely why the real Mike is upset with him; even though he knows the impostor trio isn't Mike, Small Mike calling him out still caused him to finally address this issue (I think he was hoping the real Mike was listening, and if Mike was listening, I think this may be leading to an eventual reconciliation).
As for King's scene being the reason some people believe Castle Town is a bad option for Tenna... That's really weak reasoning. Oh, he didn't get along with one (1) character, who is a known asshole? Clearly, the entire town (which is full of other characters) must be bad for him! /sarcasm. Like... he can just not visit the jail. He can go anywhere else in the town, including his own room in the castle.
Plus, staying in Castle Town (at least so far) looks like the only option for him to reunite with Spamton, the one person who truly understood him and was very close with him, and potentially reconcile with Mike as well.
And yeah, I've talked about the TV being just an object to Mettaton (who doesn't know that Tenna exists) and Castle Town being the better option for Tenna in this post.
