Appearance: Red morph, with blue-grey eyes. Usually seen wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a straw raincoat.

Occupation: traveling toymaker

Family members: ‘Red’ Acacia (mother, deceased), Taiga (father, deceased), Jennie (oldest sibling), Amber (middle sibling), Bracken (youngest sibling)

Pets: none

Best friends: Closest friends unknown, they consider many they meet as their friend

Describe their room: The bed is shoved up in one corner, most of the room is a dedicated workshop. Scattered around the workbench and various chests and draws are pieces of fabric, blocks of wood, string, paint, and tools.

Way of speaking: Gentle, straightforward

Physical characteristics (postures, gestures, attitude): Rather warm and easy-going.

Items in their pocket/purse: A knife, fire starting kit, needle and thread

Hobbies: hiking, fishing, stargazing

Favorite sports: none

Abilities/ talents/ powers: possesses an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the roads and trails, a skilled wood carver and builder.

Relationships (how they deal with other people): They rather enjoy the company of youngsters. Always tries to see the best in others. Doesn’t like those who are disrespectful of others.

Faults: Can be stubborn, will not forget wrongs—and they won’t let others forget either

I have some plans for this song-maybe somewhere in Snow on the Pines, maybe in another part of the series. It’s funny really, I don’t have too much trouble with poetry, but I have a harder time of getting a song done. Guess it’s cause I struggle with ‘visualizing’ a tune. Sometimes it comes to me, but it’s mostly been a lot of work and reworking. Tough going, but sometimes I find gold.

Equip(ped) (from Wings of Twilight): “Now their eye is firmly fixed on the west. I fear what that means. Imagine them fully equipped for war…we wouldn’t stand a chance.”

Treaty (from Fire in the Trees): “I don’t care what you think—I am not violating the tenants of the treaty! No [REDACTED] or [REDACTED]! Do I make myself clear?”

Swing (from Snow on the Pines): What followed was the swing of fists, kicks and bites as conspirators and loyalists went at each other.

Duck (from Snow on the Pines): Cya had to duck, but even then she risked getting a mouthful of snow.

Flesh (from Snow on the Pines): The claws digging into soft, tender flesh. The spray of blood like red beads. It all should have all felt upsetting, or at least uncomfortable. But it didn’t. And that startled him [Fen].

Going with the first line I wrote/edited today. From Snow on the Pines:

“Several received some minor burns, but nothing too serious. They all suffered smoke inhalation to some degree or another. Our First Hunter [Fen] got the worst of it. But…

“I just don’t see how it is possible. Inhaling all that smoke should have torn his lungs to shreds. Yet his breathing sounded almost perfectly fine.”
