This might just be me chat
tomato seals :D
plus the original regular tomatoes before my partner told me to make every tomato a seal lmao
i’m really getting into this kind of style, i don’t think i’ve ever been all that great with drawing people and kept trying to focus too hard on getting better rather than finding myself outside of it. i loved drawing this and think i’m gonna stick with the vibe
I failed tremendously at getting back into art this winter by accidentally on purpose picking up 3 new books
I can’t control my hobbies - they control me :(
This is the best description I’ve heard for this method, I always thought it was bullshit because I never heard a description that actually explained how to do this other than “tap your head 20 times”.
I have anxiety-induced hissing, which sounds/feels different from sound-induced tinnitus (which I have also experience). Sound-based tinnitus actually sounds like you’re “hearing” something in your ears, whilst the hissing I have feels like it’s “inside my head”, if that makes sense. But this technique still helps!!
Here’s a visual I found because I couldn’t understand the instructions well
My ringing just went away for the first time in years. What is this blissful quiet.
wait wait i gotta try this, i don’t think i’ve had Actual Silence since i was like 5
HOW THE FUCK
Reblogging to save a life, and also because, even if you don’t have tinnitus, this is totally worth trying if you like new sensory experiences. Â

Invasive species versus a second, stronger invasive species
Australia did this at one point, intentionally releasing cats into the bush in an attempt to control the invasive rabbit population. Now we have invasive feral cats as well as invasive rabbits👌
A third, even stronger invasive species will surely do the trick

I’m at the age where my mom is finally letting me in on all the family drama and oh..ohohwaoh
are my prophetic visions a joke to you

If you can’t love yourself as you are, love yourself enough to change.
On the morning of the knife fight I was scheduled to lose, I washed myself in the ritual soap and dressed in soft, loose fitting clothes as was the custom. I would not break my fast until after the deed was done.
My second ferried me to the entry point at the North, where I declared my secret name to the gatekeeper and several acolytes in quick succession. They prepared me for the inner sanctum, infusing my veins with salt water and drawing intricate sigils on my chest. I bid farewell to my second, who would keep vigil outside. I remember very little after this, but when I awoke, I felt a great weight had been lifted from my chest.

Anyway, the top surgery yesterday went great!
i need all fat people who want top surgery to know you are not too fat for top surgery. a competent surgeon and anesthesiologist team will make things work for you regardless of your size. if one doctor gives you shit about your weight or bmi or outright refuses to operate on you, get a second opinion. go to a second doctor. go to a third doctor. go to a million doctors until you get what you want. the dual combo of fatphobia and transphobia in medicine cannot keep us down. you do not need to be skinny to change your body how you want to change it. you do not need to be skinny for top surgery.
Also -
Research beforehand! Find a list of surgeons you want to consult with and go through all of their pre/post op photos. Reddit is a good place to start since it’s organized (I searched my location in r/TopSurgery and found a lot to choose from).
If your surgeon has a good amount of examples of procedures done on fat bodies, good! Consult with them! They know what they’re doing.
If your surgeon doesn’t have any good examples of larger patients’ procedures, or doesn’t have a space for pre-post op examples at all, that’s a red flag.
You’re never out of options. There are a LOT of top surgeons out there and of that, a lot of great ones that won’t discriminate like that. Don’t bother giving a surgeon who refuses your body type the light of day.
Hello! This is your friendly inquiry to answer this ask with whatever you'd like to talk about right now! Whether that be a story you're working on, something you're excited or worried about, or just something random you happen to know.
All the love,

I think I've found myself.
You know, I really wanted to be a writer for the longest time. The community on this site is so welcoming and alive, I thought I could force myself through 365 days of writer's block through the sheer motivation of people actually reading my work. I used to love writing fiction; my primary form of procrastination throughout all of high school was writing loosely connected short stories, because I could never manage to write more than 10 pages about the same thing. Now things are different. I can't manage more than a few pages of fiction, and I can barely come up with new characters for the life of me.
I still read. In fact, I'm reading more now than I have ever before. I just don't have an interest in the writing anymore. I don't feel a desire to tell someone else's story anymore.
But I'm realizing that it's not because of any fault of mine that I've lost interest in writing fiction -- It's because I've finally found my passion elsewhere. I have found myself in geology, earth history, paleontology, chemistry. I've found myself in something that I didn't even know was an option in high school. Community college introduced the real concept of environmental science to me, and university introduced me to the real future I can have as a geologist.
All this is to say two things.
One — If you're like me, and you've yet to find your "thing" even when everyone around you seems to have found theirs — Take your time. I didn't even know my thing was a thing until a little over a year ago. You have time.
Two — I guess this post can mark a re-vamping of this account in a different genre. I haven't been posting because I haven't been writing, and I'm not going to force myself to write. We'll see where the current takes us, but for now, this is just for fun.

Thank you @writeintrees for the tag!
1. Are you named after anyone?
First name no, but before I transitioned my middle name was my Great Aunts name. I just switched it to the masculine version of Louis because she was pretty cool.
2. When was the last time you cried?
Maybe three weeks ago. I moved out of my parents house for the first time about a month and a half ago and suddenly only being able to see them once a week if that, living with three strangers, and starting at a new university all at once caught up to me. I probably cried for nearly half an hour straight with my boyfriend over it.
3. Do you have kids?
Nope, and I fully plan on never having any. I’ll be the cool present uncle to my brothers kids with a handful of cats and other small creatures.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Oh yeah. My humor is really ironic recently so I try to be overt about I am joking by using sarcasm so no one thinks I’m actually insane.
5. What’s the first thing people notice about you?
This question is unfair, I’m not other people. Used to, I can say it was my eyes. I’d get compliments pretty often on my eye color before I started wearing glasses all the time. Now I’m not sure? Hopefully my personality, I try to be kind to people.
6. What’s your eye color?
🔵👄🔵 guess
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
When I’m with people? Scary movies. I love horror in a group setting or as a date movie, but alone I can’t get enough of cheesy happy ending movies.
8. Any special talents?
Finding the cheapest frozen pot pies in a 100 mile radius. I literally just found some for 99 cents at Aldi.
9. Where were you born?
Houston Texas baby
10. What are your hobbies?
Procrastinating my Chem homework by over-studying for my rock identifying geology labs. Oh, and writing, and a little painting.
11. Have you any pets?
I have three beautiful (stinky) rats making a racket in my room as I type this.
12. What’s sports do you play/have played?
I used to do color guard way back when (like nearly 6 years ago), but once I recover from top surgery I want to get in to rock climbing.
13. How tall are you?
5’5” :(
14. Favorite subject in school?
Geology and earth sciences
15. Dream job?
The goal is environmental conservation, but the dream is honestly something along the lines of a park ranger. I just want to be outside and in nature.

wait, I'm curious - I feel like most writers feel pretty comfortable with a little bit of genre swapping and mixing, but are there any sort of stories/genres that you'd never write? And, importantly, not because of any ideological/moral stance against them, but purely because they're not to your taste?
For instance - you'd nevvveeer catch me writing puppy love/first crush or teen/college coming of age stories. I have no issue with them at all they're just not my thing!
I'd love to know what everyone else's is!
