what annoys me about explaining evolution to people who donât think itâs real is that everyoneâs idea of how it works seems to be from this
Whereas the reality is far more like
Was not expecting this many of you to resonate with Millennium Death Plinko
Um so I just wrote a whole essay about this post

OH MY GOD WAIT. "can you tell your dad i said hi- wait no nevermind he doesn't know i-" wasn't about her having a crush on asgore it was about her possessing his figurine. oh my god
The pilot -> astronaut pipeline makes complete sense but is also funny to me. There's a secret second sky and if you get good enough at doing sky you can do space.

i would love for a woman to trap me on an island for seven years
basically i think this is actually a lens that is often overlooked in analysis of the odyssey. the odyssey being a story told by and for a seafaring culture, one of odysseus' major motivations is I Don't Want To Be At Sea Anymore, and the conflict that arises is You Have To. several of his early misadventures are the result of his crew seeking shore leave and becoming enthralled by the comfort and ease they find there, which is punished by the narrative and commonly depicted as a failure of their dedication or discipline. You are a sailor you go to sea. If you try not to go to sea you're a pussy and you're going anyways. the requirement of going to sea is established as a different, superlative requirement to the requirement of going home by tiresias and the oar-shovel feat cited by so many black sails fans: even when you get home, you aren't done voyaging; you can't find peace until you've left behind & made good your obligation to the sea, which is to transmute your nature on a divine level.
now calypso asks what if you didn't have to go to sea anymore? what if your endless voyage could literally be over right now and everything could be easy forever. her initial seduction is the same as the lotus-eaters, she enchants him with comfort and sensation (singing and weaving, also, being Feminine Arts : Womanly Comfort and the performance of domesticity being associated with shore leave in the western maritime tradition since. well. the odyssey). odysseus has been gone from ithaca for so long that all he knows is war and the sea; going home is first and foremost the quest for relief; why shouldn't that relief be here? what if you don't have to keep going? but the thing is that you do have to. and odysseus is not the kind of Lesser Sailor who can be earnestly swayed by something as mundane as an eternal shore leave. as a figure in this story he is a True Mariner and a Responsible Patriarch. he has to voyage, and he has to go home and get his house in order because it's his job. so obviously he doesn't Want to stay on calypso's island. he has to go to sea. side note: his imprisonment on calypso's island is actually a perfect parallel to selkie stories right down to the sexual violence and it would be really interesting to explore the way that gender affects both how those stories are structured and how they're received.
so on a metatextual level odysseus' imprisonment on calypso's island serves the same sociological function as most noncon/dubcon fantasies. it exempts you from the moral/social failing of wanting it. what it asks YOU, the fisherman attending a festival in ancient athens, is what if you weren't ALLOWED to be at sea anymore? what if the easy way out happened to you by the action of a divine other-power rather than being something you had to fight tooth and nail for? what if you got to live on a magical island with a nymph who was obsessed with you and all of your needs were met, BUT it was against your will so you were still inherently a True Mariner and not a lazy and irresponsible quitter? booktok dark romance for merchant seamen in the 7th century bc
then what do YOU want?
If I see one more person saying they donât think Pink deserved to be a shadow crystal boss or didnât deserve the freedom motif, Iâm going to explode.
Her whole THING is freedom. Sheâs in the dark world in the first place to find her freedom in the body she just KNEW was her.
Plus, she directly parallels our relationship with Kris. She presents a solution to the problem we have with Kris, where the body and soul want something different. She presents the idea of working together and compromising, learning to love both sides of yourself. She is the freedom that we and Kris could potentially have.
Not to mention, Pink and Ralsei are parallels too! Pink knows who she is and what she wants, and Ralsei does not. Ralsei speaks directly to Pinkâs problems like her dysphoria like they know what sheâs going through. Ralsei is, at their core, envious of people who know what they want and are confident enough to take it. They NEED Pinkâs fight, in a way, because it might help them become more secure.
Just because Pink doesnât fit the âcreepyâ or âdarkâ themes of the other secret bosses, doesnât mean she doesnât belong there. Trans joy is freedom. Self acceptance is freedom. She deserves this.

actually the sanitization of lesbian media is because of transmisogyny. every backslide you've percieved in acceptance and equality is because of the rise of transmisogyny. free the nipple. marriage rights. clothing options. bathrooms. its all because of this big bioessentialist conservative puritan push to try to erase trans women from society and specifically lesbianism. you cannot leave us behind and expect a better world.
well what do i gain from not capitalizing on a popular post
help a disabled trans lesbian survive unemployment and poverty by donating to my v3nmo or ca$happ

HUGE DELTARUNE THEORY. BIG IF TRUE.
Deltarune Chapter 5 spoilers!!!
So, we all got that Ralsei fucking partially succeeded, right? We, in chapter 5, 100% did NOT follow the prophecy, and mostly it comes down to Ralsei's (and Flowery's too, he did a lot of the work actually) actions. We already had that with the fact that by getting all recruits in chapter 3 Tenna doesn't die, but now we completely changed 2 things: 1:
So, remembered when we saw this and were all sure this was talking about Asgore's jealousy? Well..
It feel to me like the jealousy that would burn up the whole garden... would be Ralsei's. We know that the prophecy is a violent one (both by the "original" game hidden by Tenna being the one with a attack button, Tenna dying like in the prophecy if you FIGHT you way trough chapter 3, and by Ralsei's own admission that he wanted us to be kind as a way to avoid the prophecy's ending.) Ralsei was worried, scared even, of what HE would do, or be made to do, to the point he hides his fire magic, the one that is actually hinted at in all the prophecy imagery (as is him wearing the hat or cloak)
It goes to the point that he (and also Susie) will refuse to fight Flowery, a thing both Ralsei and Flowery make very clear knew that would happen by fate, but didn't really want (even if Flowery was ok with it to protect the fountain, and Ralsei did trie it multiple times because of his emotions.) The fact that we cannot actually win by FIGHTing Flowery is, to my understanding, the biggest point in Ralsei's arc. He refuses to listen to us, by, in his own words:
This is HIS way of doing this, of following the rules. He doesn't have it in himself to defy the prophecy, but he is willing to challenge it, to try to interpret it in other ways. 2- We see how this affects thing too, because of the wording here:
The whole point here is that Asgore would be trapped, and while you can argue that it is exactly what Flowery was trying to do, in the end, Asgore WAS going to leave, and Flowery would accept that. He was not trapping Asgore. Yes, he was trying to trick the man in staying there forever, but Asgore was always able to leave, Flowery very clearly did not want to force Asgore there. If it wasn't for the Knight, Asgore would have gotten out, he was always there out of his own volition.
This chapter for me is the staging of whats to come: the battle aginst fate. We had Susie in chapter 4, and now we have Ralsei ready for it in chapter 5; The big question, the one that I think will define if our heroes will win against the prophecy: is Kris ready for it?
