Here’s a thought bc that Victorian laid-up-in-bed-with-a-terrible-headcold aesthetic slaps

Noble/Lord/Lady etc someone with enough social status to have some type of servant for them is stuck in bed surrounded by pillows wearing one of those billowy shirts that are just way too think for them right now. Face completely flushed with a bit of a fever. Nothing too serious, but they’re so stuffy it’s giving them a headache. Every time they sneeze or blow their nose, it’s disgustingly productive and makes their sinus headache intensify tenfold. After a while they’re just slumped into their bed, mopping up their face with an already overused handkerchief while their butler/maid/whoever is beside them bed holding a few more just in case. And their charge is drawling on and on about how miserable they feel and how they’re so glad they have someone to keep them company while they’re a mess, looking incredibly vulnerable to their servant in that...Victorian romantic subtext kinda way.

Same concept ,even though this has been said like a million times,

Few days after the servant person catches that cold and the noble person or whatever has to do their best to fulfill their duties as well as learn how to take care of another person and hGHGDJB the Victorian romantic subtext

When your sick Asra tries to play it cool

Like he’s very confident he can help and assures you he’ll help you get better 

But you died of the plague so he always gets worried

He hovers a bit, making you teas and pep up potions and bringing you anything you need 

No matter how sick you are he will still cuddle the crap out of you

Kisses to your forehead to take your temperature

Soft touches to your arms and gentle kisses to your knuckles

Lots of homemade soup and crackers

Will confer with julian if it seems like more than a cold or what he can handle

The best pillow fluffer

Always makes sure your comfortable

Please do not forget how good the recovery part is -

> turning off the water, they get out again, shivering, before wrapping themselves in a towel, and sitting down. They feel weak and tired, but manage to drag themselves to bed and sneak under the covers;

> they wake up with a pounding headache, high fever, sore throat, shivers and a full on body ache.

feeling for a fever and their forehead is really warm? “oh you poor thing, you have a fever”

they just sneezed and it sounded miserable/tired/wet? “oh you poor thing, need any tissues?”

or, even better, they just got finished with a coughing fit but they have to sneeze a few times “oh you poor thing, you must feel misreable/you must be really sick”

UNFORTUNATELY, YOU KIDS CANNOT HAVE SUCH A PLEASANT DREAM.

FROM NOW, A NIGHTMARE WILL AWAKEN IN YOUR HEARTS.

Gotta keep trying, ‘cause every time it gets a little easier.
