You do not get to profit, financially or attention wise or another way, off of a *potentially* queer jew whilst we are banned from pride events.

We do not know if she was questioning her sexuality but ultimately straight or if she was actually queer because she was killed for the crime of existing as a jew before she could come out. Queer rights obviously matter. Anne Franke is not the person you should be using.

You need to protect alive queer jews. You need to love all jews, not just the dead ones.

"Israel is committing genocide" when Jews were the victims of the deadliest genocide ever.

"Israel is an apartheid state" when Israeli Arabs are legally given equal civil and political rights and can vote, stand for political office and have equal access to state courts and services.

"Israel is an illegal occupier" when the Rashidun, Umayyad, Abbasid, Fatimid, Ayyubid caliphates/sultanates occupied Israel for over 500 years.

Some highlights:

- The majority of the episodes were written and/or directed by women

- The way they handled the sexual assault plotline and always centered Hannah and her feelings about it/ how she’s trying to move on from it and not let it define her life.

- The incorporation of non-sexual female nudity. (There’s sex scenes too, but the nudity is not always inherently sexual.) There was also lots of dialogue peppered in about consent and sexual health and the normalization of women having casual sex as long as everyone is into it and being safe.

- Hannah and Allie’s friendship and support for one another

- The hockey dudes and their lack of toxic masculinity and support for one another

- John Tucker and his dippables and epic to-do list and singing Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy and his handsome little face (how are more people not crushing on him?!)

- “Are these theatre kids better at drinking than us?!”

- Allie’s wardrobe was amazing
