In 1993, Rachel Pollack gave birth to Kate Godwin, aka Coagula, the first trans character in superhero comics written by a trans person. Why
Another tour de force by Badly Licked Bear:
Superhero comics, perhaps by virtue of the ubiquity of the fantastic, were, in 1993, place where that which was elsewhere impossible became possible - trans realism.
Struggle-La Lucha and the Struggle for Socialism Party salute our LGBTQIA+ and Two Spirit siblings this Pride Month, at a critical juncture
For the past 18 months, Donald Trumpâs regime has been steadily putting in place all of the infrastructure, legal and otherwise, to make it impossible for trans people to exist in public, and to justify the dehumanization and extermination of trans lives on a mass scale.Â
In this, like the evisceration of Black voting rights and reproductive rights, the U.S. Supreme Court is Trumpâs enthusiastic and loyal collaborator.

June 1 â Today is the first day of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month. A few days ago, I organized a vigil for a neighbor who was murdered. Eryka Caldwel
By Melinda Butterfield
Across the U.S., at least 12 trans people have been murdered or found dead in suspicious circumstances since early March. Thatâs about one per week.
On the surface, Eryka Caldwell and Juniper Blessing donât seem to have had much in common: from different generations, different backgrounds, living very different lives on opposite ends of the country. But what they did have in common was being members of a marginalized group that has been relentlessly scapegoated by the wealthy and powerful for the last half-decade.Â
The back-to-back murders of trans women in Seattle and Brooklyn, havens of trans life and queer culture, have made explicit what we already knew in our guts: in 2026, there is no safe place for trans people in the United States.

Man, I really do love this first run. So small. So weird. So personal. So quintessentially street-level. Kamala is instantly charming. Her family feels so real. The city itself is a character. A misfit figuring out her strange powers will never get old.

So You Want to Buy a Gun
Guest written by Tacticool Girlfriend
Arm the Dolls focuses on statute-based legal information, but navigating gun ownership involves more than just knowing the law. This guide series features community experts sharing practical knowledge on topics we donât cover in our legal resources.
Our first guest contributor, Tacticool Girlfriend, is a firearms educator who has been making content online since 2020. If youâve seen a firearms video involving a girl wearing a mask with on-point eye makeup, youâve seen TG.
Her commitment to building an alternative voice in the space, one specifically written to the concerns of minorities and marginalized communities, has been an inspiration to this project. Weâre thrilled to bring her guidance to our community.

NEW YORK, May 27, 2026 â Transgender people and allies gathered on a street corner outside a dollar store in Brooklynâs Bushwick neighborhood on Wednesday night for a vigil held in honor of Eryka Caldwell, a 41-year-old trans woman who was fatally stabbed in a nearby apartment on May 17.
