Although you know me, even writing something fluffy I have to slip some trauma in there ;)

It was so much fun thinking how SecUnit would describe cooking and how ART would interact with it around Mensah. I also slipped some untagged surprise Mensah/Farai/Tano in there as a 2for1 prompt fill.

This was such a fun event. I haven't done a lot of events yet but this has been the best one so far, just in terms of writing a gift for someone about something I wouldn't have thought of writing myself, and then also receiving a gift of something I dearly wanted from the fandom.

A piece I did for 2026 Murderbot Diaries New Year Gift Exchange (@mbd-gift-exchange) for @mythologeekwriter (a super fun and cool human).

They requested Murderbot experiencing camping and wilderness with friends clients, and maybe some Tarik interactions. Lovely prompts, and of course I couldn't resist adding a (very suspicious) bird. Ratthi continues being delighted by everything. Murderbot continues disrespecting the privacy of correspondence.

Another gift for @securityunit-ese - the first one was originally too short, so I wrote this one, and then in edits the other one grew a bit... so two fics, it's fine XD

Summary:

Murderbot isn’t sure what it wants to do on Preservation. So it’s mostly hanging around the survey team, watching them write up reports. Apparently, it is actually good at helping with reports. So that’s something. Enough to make a friend, it seems.

Summary

Gurathin missed his chance to make his apology on Port FreeCommerce. He’s not going to make that mistake again, even if he has to do it in the middle of a hostage negotiation. Of course, Murderbot would rather he shut the fuck up and preferably never speak again.

The Perihelion & Holism crews agree to spend a snow day together, with snowball fights, etc. Murderbot isn't thrilled about spending the day on a planet, but ART offers a tempting option: go to the planet, and then have its memory of the time removed. (Yes, for ART this is yet another medical experiment. It wants to understand the effects of amnesia.)

But at the end of the day, does Murderbot really want to lose its memories of playing in the snow?
