I personally love the main two the best! Con and Nevery are such iconic characters. I think Nevery is more my favorite nowdays as an adult though becuase of how his character development goes throughout the book. He starts out doubting Con but he always listened to Con and was ready to admit his faults which you don't see all too often whith adult characters. He snaps, takes a deap breath, clarifies and they move on. From the Con not knowing how to read scene to the "What do you mean you don't want to be my servent!" fight, Nevery shows what a good rolemodel he is--that inspite his instint to get angry at a persieved slight, he doesn't hesitate to fact check and find a solution. There are lots of scenes where in a normal book, you'd have a full blown up fight between the characters where Nevery doesn't trust Con, and it happens over and over, but in the Magic Thief books, Nevery grows to trust him immensely, with the alcumination of all that development being shown to use in the lock-up scene. Nevery at the begining of the book would have said "ugh, the gutter rat stole something, well, gotta help him anyway. Ugh" but by the end, he's like "This must be a misunderstanding--My appretince would never steel, and he certainly never lies. Thats obviously HIS magical stone. "
