#i work with a sweet older guy who is living in a shelter and he said it recently and caught that i didnt like it#(he was also using it to refer to himself which of course made me so sad and i was gassing him up rather than focusing on the language)#but bc he took my reaction to heart hes adjusted his language to not use it (at least around me)#its so clear its coming from a place of being called that and thus believing he is lesser#when he works harder and communicates with me perfectly (which cant always be said of people not of his background)#so like yeah no we are not bringing this back ty#it completely degrades and dehumanizes people who are already regularly degradded and dehumanized
