Wanted to jump in again and show the signs that inspired these billboards. I’m from the Midwest USA, and billboards are maybe more common than people in some areas.

So, the Pinkie Pie one and the political billboard weren’t actually based off of anything specific, just a vibe. But the rest are barely an exaggeration.

Wall Drug is a store that is famous for having road signs absolutely everywhere, but I used to live kinda near Wall and I have a soft spot for them. If you don’t know what Wall Drug is I’d recommend looking it up, it’s pretty fun.

And of course, Eat Steak Wear Furs Keep Your Guns. This is a very specific sign I passed by every time I left town for a while. No branding or anything, just out in a field I drove past a lot. I haven’t seen it recently in the times I’ve gone back to visit so I don’t think it’s still there.

I mean that said i think a large amount of pedigree standards (and the people creating/upholding them) are not nearly as concerned about the health of an animal's genetics as you or they would like us to believe, considering THIS is the first face you see on the CFA's page on Persians

there are ways to breed persians without such extreme brachycephalic traits, but then they generally don't meet pedigree breed standards bc their noses aren't short enough. And since they're the most low-hanging fruit for argument if they try to say they're excluding something to not encourage breeding that could be genetically detrimental to the animals, I'd guess their clear hypocrisy is probably why they don't just say that. Because it's not true, it's just their justification.

Also, if you think Persians aren't the same thing because it was just the result of long intentional breeding rather than a genetic abnormality, fine: you want to know what breed is entirely based on a genetic abnormality that is provably tied to actual detrimental health issues that the CFA DOES recognize (and thus contributes to the continued novelty breeding of)?

he said that he didn't want to sound discouraging or like i can't do it, but that it's best to be realistic with myself about my options in life. and that was so comforting. i wouldn't have minded at all if he really did mean it like "i agree; you can't do it;" the thing many abled people don't understand is that there's a lot of liberation that comes from letting go of the expectation that we disabled people can do everything an abled person can.

it saves us a lot of mental and physical pain, lost sleep, obsessing, self-neglect, injuries, getting acute illnesses more easily, chronic/episodic conditions flaring up more/worse than before, the pain of always masking how hard it is. working 10+ times harder than everyone else just to achieve the same result. and sometimes, if we can manage to hide how much we're struggling, the downside of that is that no one is aware that we are, so they think we have the ability to try even harder so we can achieve even more. so they push us past our limits before either of us realize what's going on.

and I thought like, yeah. if I could take all the time I miss from migraines and put it towards Cool Side Project, I would totally be able to swing that.

The opening title card of the movie “HOLES” is misspelled in DVD and Blu-Ray copies of the film.

Often when a movie is transferred to DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K formats, the titles have to be redone to read more legibly. When Disney released “HOLES” in 2003, the title card itself was written in small text in the corner of the screen. If transferred to home video normally, this title would have been only five pixels tall and too faint to make out.

But in early 2004, when the time came to alter the title for home video, the digital technician responsible typed the name wrong and quality control never caught it, all the way through the film’s blu-ray release in 2018. No fans wrote in noticing the flaw, nobody in quality for the disc releases, nobody at all noticed, and so the flaw remains to this day.
