my ideal s2 of shadow lord starts exactly at the same point as s1, but maul isn't surprised when vario kills deemis - he's confused, like he was hit by a sense of deja vu. when they raid the police station he locks eyes with devon before entering vario's, and he's certain now - he's seen this before. he keeps making slightly different choices, like he knows how things will go. and he gets to the s1 finale managing to save spybot only for it to die where rook died originally. she still dies anyway. the events of s1 end and we immediately go back to the beginning once again. maul is trapped in a timeloop and the only way to get out is to give up on trying to get devon to join him at the expense of his team's lives

Those two were two sides of the coin when it came to Palpatine and being used as Pawns by him especially in Ep1 and I think they could've been fascinating together

#YESSS I've made a post more or less about this ages ago but #in phantom menace especially padme was still idealistic and maul was (and has always been) a reflection of anakin's future #if she knew what he was. more slave than apprentice. do you think she'd have enough compassion to try to save him.#do you think he would resent her before they ever met in person because she was palpatine's apprentice in politics‚#a pawn just like him but not as subjected to violence‚ her life not always in danger like his has been for as long as he can remember.#do you think if given the opportunity she would try to 'domesticate' him. and do you think he'd let her.#found family of two but they bonded over being manipulated by the same evil old man..#and can you imagine how much more unstable anakin would be if padme had a close friendship with a man that isn't him #he'd be so unstable. constantly paranoid that padme might cheat on him before he even starts getting the visions of her dying in childbirth #so much untapped potential. can everyone get more crazy about this please
