So what I've noticed is that Damien Thorn is smaller than other boys his age. Could it be because he's technically a jackal pup? 🤔

The Omen is so fucked up now that I watched it as an adult. Every step on the way to the rise of the Antichrist was disguised as care and compassion. First, a supposedly sympathetic priest couldn't stand watching a sorrowful couple who's just lost their child after they were born and offered them an orphaned infant to adopt instead. Then, Damien was protected by many devilish servants who went as far as sacrifice their lives to save his. I don't doubt they loved him in their own deranged way but so many innocent lives were taken just to protect the devil's son himself. Damien must be the OG doomed by the narrative cuz this kid literally had NO other choice. No matter how much he resisted, he'd always find support only from those people who directly participated in the preparation of Armageddon. Damien was a kind boy who loved his family but eventually killed his own cousin because he refused to follow his path– this time without his protectors to do it instead. The temptation and loss of faith were stronger in this story. The evil was so powerful that it took a new Lamb of God to strike the Antichrist down. And to think Damien was loved and cherished while the world around him was basically falling apart.

Every time someone mentions that Obi-Wan loves Anakin enough that he couldn't kill him in Mustafar and that in itself is a rare mercy considering his duties as a Jedi. I always want to say "damn but leaving him to burn alive is?" Like. I assure you that death would be kinder, it's okay to kill someone as mercy, especially if they're suffering.

I'm sorry but I believe killing someone you love is not the same as e.g. killing your enemy... Obi-Wan told Yoda that he wouldn't be able to take Anakin's life, even though it was his duty by then. He could not kill his brother with his own hands. Yes that wasn't merciful but Obi-Wan is a human being too. And it's normal when you can't bring yourself to do this to a person who means so much to you. It's a murder, mercy or not.

Oh yeah that makes sense actually. I wrote about Obi-Wan's perspective in my response and I agree that there was no good choice he could make. Either he kills Anakin or Anakin burns to death or becomes disabled for the rest of his life. Considering what the Emperor did to him later, Obi really should have used that lightsaber for a final blow. But there's also the fact that Anakin didn't want this mercy because he still had work to finish and wasn't ready to die... he'd be doomed no matter what Obi-Wan would have chosen. This knowledge hurts.

can you imagine landing on naboo after your fellow citizens have been starved and imprisoned in a blockade, the trade federation ship was destroyed from the inside in seemingly a miracle, you follow the ship that caused it back home, and the head of a 9 year old boy you've never met pokes out of the cockpit. he immediately starts high-fiving everyone and asking if they know padmé, and they're like.. you mean.. the queen?????? and he's like "oh yeah. queen amidala. she's my friend. so are the jedis. have you seen them? they ran off that way chasing some spiky guy with a red sword who almost ran me over the other day. this is r2 by the way." 😭😭😭😭
