I don't give two shits about this show but I agree that it's not what Anakin is supposed to be like. My guy is awkward and not really sociable and generally not the person you'd want to be around. Not every character has to be "charismatic" to be interesting. I think it's more admirable to be able to write a person who's a complete loser than another cool guy. Star Wars already has plenty of these.
