Let’s go fishing and testing the rod!

My trip go to Reindeer lake, Canada. Huerco is one of my travel rod option!

Our Fishing trip detail is below:

Target fish:

1.Lake Trout 60cm~85cm

Bottom jigging lure from 50g~80g

Strong fight from the deep water 30~40 meters and sometimes picky, need to jig the lure beautiful to lure them! 

2.Walleye 35cm~60cm

Water weed and bottom around 3 meters, Sensitive and picky fish, mostly bait the plastic bait from 3g~20g, sometime also eat swing bait.

Cause Huroco XT510-4c is sensitive enough to separate fish bait from get stock, the rod is the best choice to do walleye fishing!

3.Pike 70cm~ 100cm over!

Normal pike eat every lure, however, big pike (over 90cm) is much more smart, them prey the limit lure in the limit condition.

Lure choice from 5g plastic worm to 50g swim bait. Therefore, Huerco XT510-4c is suitable to do spinning bait and jig head and Taxes rig!

For testing the limit of rod, big pike is absolutely the best target. I got over 1 meter pike by Huerco XT510-4c.

Conclusion:

This Rod is designed for convenience travel and easily handle. This trip actually is hard-core for every fishing rod, we nearly got over 50 pikes and 20,30 lake trouts, so, thanks god this rod is still there!

It’s 3 pics rod which can be put in luggage. All detail are dedicated and well-designed, the weight is only 204g!!! wow~! 

Long Grip can be separated that easier for traveling!

Put the long grip on! It’s really match and balance when you add the ocea jigger on!

It’s double usage if you bought the long grip! So I’ll highly recommend that you should buy the log grip with it!

It’s all new product, very exciting the get this, 4 pices and stronger!  The most amazing thing is the collecting length is just 56cm, which is marvelous for fishing oversea!

Let’s see the different between 3pc and 4pc:

Firstly the color of Rod is different, 3pc is black, BC4 is dark red.

But the guide is the same, high quality Fuji tangle free K guide

Another big different is the handle, 3pc is round end which may be designed for fighting and BC4 is  flat, I think it may be designed for casting.

And another very important part for travel rod is plug in part,

we can see the difference, 3PC is longer and fatter than BC4.

The numbers of guides also different. 3pc is 10, BC4 is 11, so the position of these two rods are different! 

Nevertheless, the holding balance feeling and the banding are the same!

So, choice one that match you need!

To be the Fishing Traveler, these two Rod I will give 95 score!

Boating around

To be the fishing traveler, one of my favorite stuff is boating. In Koa sok, the pier is in the west side, but where I go fishing is in far west-north of the dam, 2 hours boat from the pier.

Actually, 2 hours is not so long, cause when you started the boat journey, you can see the fantastic view of  karst topography, you can not stop your camera!

Stunning right? Even for me, 2rd time to come here, I was still stunning for this scenery. Of course, when we passing some nice fishing point (in my opinion may have fish), I can ask boatman for staying a bit and fishing for a short time. However, the season is not the Toman season, therefore, caught nothing. 

 Living in the wild

Very exciting I can come back here again. Everything was familiar! But last time, there was no other tourist, and this time, there are 2 or 3 tourist groups, mostly are animal watching tour and 1 fly fishing tour, which made the remote floating house so lively comparing to the last time.

A benefit of traveling alone is you can eat whole dishes by yourself! These is what I ate in these 3 days. These foods made me felt I’m in the normal city in Thailand, not so remote.

Jungle Fishing

Last time, I mainly did boat-fishing for gaint snakehead and sebareu, this time, what I wanna catch is Golden Masheer, it’s more chance to catch by walking the branch river. So, I decided to pay more attention on trekking riverside.

First day, I arrived floating house on 2pm, which is a bit late, so I prepared both boat fishing tackle and river fishing tackle, cause I knew I may have not so much time for trekking.

Luckily, in my beginning of this fishing trip, I saw the wild elephant on the way to go fishing! He was in the water and play, what a wild place!

I tried some place which I got toman last time, but in van. Still wasted couple of time for boat fishing around.

I prepared whole water trekking equipment, a nice wader and Daiwa wading shoes, which made me walked amazingly fast and stable,

When I trekked riverside, I saw many golden masheer in the water!

However, my first caught was sebarua, which I caught nice size before.

Changed my technique of fishing, I got my first blue masheer of my life!!!! Though it’s not big, still sensational!!!

Riverside trekking had it’s risk to meet wild animal, therefore it’s quite dangerous if you went along, so my boatman is also a national park ranger can protect me. He walked with me and carry the real gun. If we faced wild animal, we can use gun to scare them.

But peace, we only meet some tame animals, and just sometime met wild pigs face to face, and they run away. :)

Second Day Fishing

The first day I had no much time to trek to the deep, therefore, the second day I tried a whole river trekking day. So we bring foods with us, no need to go back for lunch.

It’s cloudy day today, I felt a bit cold  in the morning. For me, Taiwanese angler, cloudy day is the best fishing day.

Today we went to other river, started from river mouth.

I can see many big fishes feeding near river mouth, including my target big Golden Masheer.

First cast! Got!!!!

Sabarau..... Again... why you so greedy, I want my gold masheer!

Though, it’s the nice size sabarau.

After fighting one fish, other fishes didn’t bit, that’s stream fishing.

We changed to another small river to trek.

Today, the river is small and cover by trees. When trekking in the water, I should be more careful and keep silent from bothering the upper water’s fish.

Yes, I thought my strategy was correct! Quiet walking, small lure, sophisticated manipulating help me to get the results.

Nice Gold masheer!!!

It’s remarkable tips that fishes were bit in the strong floating water! So, every strong water, I tried to pay more attention on it.

By the way, I got several small masheers and sebaraus.

It’s getting hotter and hotter, it’s lunch time. we took lunch and used hand to finish on the river side. In this wild place, I needed to be a wild man!

Afternoon, started to go backward, and different fish specious appeared.

A small beautiful snakehead in the deep near fast water!

And another strong bit near the coast! 

Nice size snakehead fish!

We walked back to the river mouth, and it was getting dark and started to rain!

But two bits are also Sebaru.... what a pity.

However, when dark and raining, I saw big masheer bit!!! over 5kg masheer!!!

They bit but miss!!!

Hope I can get in the last day!!!

Last half day trip

In last day, we also changed to another river for trekking. Compared the river in the first two days, this river is bigger and wide.

Really enjoy the trekking in the deep wild stream. I met wild pig and buffalo many times which were amazing.

The last day, I followed my previous experiences and idea to get some fishes. Though it’s not big that may insult my monster angler’s title, I still enjoy the stream fishing in the wild.

 And I saw groups of gold, blue masheers migrate front the upeer water. But they don’t eat my lure, I thought next time I will take more sophisticated stuff, like fly fishing for them.

I nearly completed most of fish specious in the Koa Sok national park. However, I saw the monster masheer but miss, which may be the motivation for my next koa sok trip!
