It lacks a swim bladder, so it crawls along the seafloor using its pectoral and pelvic fins, only swimming when necessary. 🌊🐾 This adds to its eerie appearance as it moves through the reefs. Venomous Predator 🕷️ As part of the scorpionfish family, this species is highly venomous. Sharp dorsal spines deliver its venom, making it a dangerous predator that hunts at night. 🌑🦐 It ambushes prey with a quick gape and suck motion—better to admire from afar! Mating Behavior 🤔 During mating, males perform an elaborate dance to attract females. 💃 After this, both the eggs and sperm are released into the water column, where fertilization occurs."
