Okay this took a long time to draw despite being a sketch. Primarily cause I’ve been procrastinating. *clears throat* The Untamed/CQL gave me what I really wanted eg. a good sort of beginning/reconciliation for Yunmeng siblings and it’s my new canon now and I had to redraw it in donghua designs cause listen okay it’s canon now. And the soft cheek caress and expressions after all the pent up anger and JC yelling and I’m—- YEAH.

ANYWAY. Yes. Redraw of the yunmeng sibs scene from CQL/The Untamed with donghua designs and my own spin on the bg and lights cause I wanted it to be warm and soft. Okay. Back to drawing merch.

Alternative title for this: The Moment They Finally Broke The YiLing Patriarch. 

So first off, Weight of the World from Nier;Automata, really, REALLY was an inspiration song for this. Cause it really feels like a Wei WuXian song. And another thing, I was listening to another song that had lyrics that went: Remember, remember, please remember who I used to be. Who am I? Who am I? What have I become? And considering Wei WuXian’s previous breakdown, it really rang well together for this piece too. Frankly, there’s so much I want to say. But the execution and everything that led up to his breakdown was so good. Poor guy tho. And Jiang Yanli deserved to tell him she still loved him. God fucking dammit. That shit was heavy. In the end he was just the shell of the man he used to be, tired from living and everything. 

Props to Lan WangJi for trying to save him, but he was far too late by then. At least the next time they met, he made sure to always be there, not letting the past repeat itself, he lost him once, he would not lose him again. His simple ‘I’m here’ definitely means too much to WWX and LWJ isn’t even aware of it. Cause in the end all WWX wanted was for someone to just stay by his side and be there no matter what.
