What we're NOT getting is that 'slow dopamine' that's more sustainable and engaging. That's the kind we get from DOING things that take effort but are ultimately rewarding.

So like, she suggested that writing fic and making fanart are ways to balance the quick dopamine of watching a show/reading fic with the slow dopamine of working at something that takes effort.

The mods have been away for a while, plotting, scheming, desperately trying to juggle everything life has thrown at us, but we are finally back with our next KakaGai event!

Get ready for KakaGai Week 2026!

The event will run from Thursday, August 13 - Wednesday, August 19 and we will accept works posted to Tumblr, Twitter, Bluesky, and AO3. Just like our previous events, all forms of art are accepted so long as it's created by you and KakaGai themed!

Prompts will be released next week, along with exclusive countdown art by the lovely and ever-talented @jvnart!

Rules and FAQ are similar to our past events, but we will post them separately on the blog for you to review and link them here as well.
