[Pokémon IRL blog, blanket unreality content warning, as well as spoilers for Scarlet and Violet’s “The Teal Mask” DLC] Icon source: https://sprites.pmdcollab.org/#/1017
Hi, everyone. Brn told me a while back that I should give this a try, might be good for “networking,” as Nema called it.
I go by Pompon. You might have heard of the Ogre of Kitakami. Well, um, I’m not her, but we Ogerpon are all kind of like sisters, in a sense. Um, except me. I’m a boy. A Brogerpon, if you will.
Anyway, about me. I live in the Oblivia region. It’s not on any maps… I think, but it’s homey. Quaint. Not a place for glory, but apparently they had to deal with some group called “the Pokémon Pinchers” a good while ago. That sounds like a band, but they’re not. Trust me.
A-anyway, I know you probably all have heard of my cool sister and want to know if I have any nifty masks, but sadly, I don’t. I’m working on building one, though! I’m something of a carpenter, but I don’t think I’d be able to Terastalize with my mask. It’s a shame, Dark types are really cool.
When I’m not crafting, I like to find shaded, woody places and feel the sun filter through the trees onto my skin. It’s so warm. ☺️
A-anyways, that’s all for now! I hope I made a good first impression…
OOC
“S/dl” and “M/dl” are filter tags for my friends, please don’t ask about them.
Facts about Pompon (so I don’t forget how to write him)
He’s picked up on some streamer logo from watching videos with Nema, but he only has a loose idea of what they mean and when it’s appropriate to say them. He says stuff like “sadge” a lot, even when it doesn’t fit the tone of the conversation.
He was originally based on me, so when in doubt, I like to ask “what would I say if I was more naïve?”
He only has a filter on his words in hindsight.
He has low self-esteem, so he tends to apologize for even small mistakes. He’s trying to talk himself up more, though!
He’s basically coded as a young kid, although I originally intended for him to be a young adult. Because of this drift in characterization, he doesn’t know what level he’s at (it’s 32)
His nature is Docile.
He knows Leech Seed, Ivy Cudgel, Lash Out, and Low Sweep.
IV-based characteristics: takes plenty of siestas, often lost in thought, hates to lose, somewhat stubborn, alert to sounds, impetuous and silly, somewhat of a clown, and quick to flee
He tends to either ramble on and on or clam up with no in-between.
Quirks I picked from the list of all possible Ribbon/Marking titles: dozy, spacey, anxious, kindhearted, humble, worn-out, daydreamer
He’s typing with vibes, so as a self-imposed rule to give his blog some more flair, I don’t fix many of the typos I make while writing his dialogue/posts.

Do you think tumblr will ever learn the difference between “I’m defending this person because I agree with them wholeheartedly and I am also like this person” and “I’m defending this person because your behavior is dangerous and you need to stop”
IMO, blurring the lines between “I’m defending them because they’re right” and “I’m defending them because you’re taking this too far” is step numero uno to cutting down the very existence of fair trial and democracy–even in places where saying that might seem a little dramatic.
Mob mentality is extremely strong in humans and it’s also extremely dangerous. Mobs don’t think things through. Mobs kill and they destroy and they can’t be reasoned with. Someone trying to calm a mob down isn’t someone defending the ~problematic party~ It’s time we re-learn that.
I honestly really hate the "[insert country in Asia] is not racially diverse" excuse for antiblackness in Asia, esp in East Asia. I always see this excuse by content creators and commentators now that content about South Korea is exploding online.
I understand how living in racially homogenous areas can make people racially ignorant but that's ignoring how colorism is already a problem within Asian communities + how there are other racial minority groups that exist in Asia? Like, Black diaspora does exist in Asia?? And there is no need to infantilize non-Black Asian people becos learning and growth is possible? Infantilization will not help anyone 😒

ICE is attacking immigrants for now, but their goal is to subjugate all of us. Fighting for our neighbors today is a way of fighting for ourselves tomorrow.
Map the infrastructure that ICE depends on. Publicize their vulnerabilities. Popularize simple, reproducible ways to impose consequences every time that ICE inflicts harm on a community. Don't just react to their attacks—choose the time and place of confrontations. Take the initiative.
"If we know, and do nothing, we are worse than the murderers hired in our name.
"If we know, then we must fight for your life as though it were our own—which it is—and render impassable with our bodies the corridor to the gas chamber. For, if they take you in the morning, they will be coming for us that night."
-James Baldwin, writing to Angela Davis while she was in captivity, November 19, 1970
Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.
Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.
All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.
After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.
It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.
And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.
The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.
Right now, the AFN is currently accepting donations to help Collins First Nation. If you're able to, please consider donating.
ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.
Other places to consider donating to are Mikinakoos Emergency Fund, Red Cross, True North Aid, Indigenous Climate Action. You can also send donations directly to Whitesand First Nation via e-transfer ([email protected]) and they request that you add your full name in the e-transfer comment section to receive a tax receipt.
*Before sending money, verify that the appeal appears on an official First Nation, Tribal Council or registered charity channel.
If you can't offer financial support, please consider donating items of need. Moontime Connections is currently accepting drop-off donations. If you live in the Thunder Bay area, Namaygoosisagagun Health Office is also taking in donations! They can also bemailed to Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre at 555 West Arthur Street, Thunder Bay, ON, P7E 5P8.

Is it racism to avoid hanging around Black people to prevent intrusive thoughts about saying slurs?
This is racism.
Take off your reasoning for not hanging around Black people and read the statement again. Regardless of your intent, you're avoiding people based on their race.
Besides, from my understanding, the best way to conquer intrusive thoughts is to put yourself in situations that you are worried about.
