You know how Hidan is basically burried somewhere in the Nara woods probably still cursing his life and every decision that got him there?

And how Orochimaru was basically sanctioned to … chill and stick around? And how obsessed he is with immortality?

I feel like he’d end up uncovering Hidan… for science reasons.

And because I’m a KakuHida shipper I feel like when everyone finds out about this they would wonder who else can be brought back. To which Hidan would probably go “Not a medic nin but I’m quite sure if you can throw my heart into Kakuzus body he can put…. Everyone back together?!”

And a few months later half the Akatsuki is revived and living in Konoha.

Kakuzu gets a salary for keeping a low profile and keeping Hidan busy, Itachi is just happy that he actually gets to have a life for once, Deidara sculpts but is strictly forbidden any explosives unless explicitly sanctioned. Sasori after some debate decides to head back to Suna…

Marik: in math class “I will so fail this test. I don’t get any of that…”

Yami Marik: “No test can be failed if there is no test. Burn down the teachers house and the school for good measure. Problem solved.”

Ryou tripping because our boy clumsy.

Bakura: “And here we go again. Seriously if you don’t stop damaging the vessel I might have to file a restraining order.”

And vibes wise, I tend to think on of the least annoyance acceptant character(s) is Marik. He/they just seem like their bullshit tolerance is basically non existent.

So imagine, Bandit Keith gets dragged on board of their ship after he was thrown out of Duelist Kingdom. He starts opening his mouth and Marik immediately wants to roll his eyes.

Then a thought hits (because by that point all Yami Marik is allowed to be is an intrusive thought generator):

“You could just throw him back in the ocean…”

Marik knows he shouldn’t listen to those thoughts but he entertains it. Just that Odion would never approve letting someone actually die. So instead Keith is taken in and nursed back to health.

“Just poison his soup then you’ll be rid of him…”

Marik doesn’t. He endures. Then during one dinner Odion mentions that he doesn’t think highly of Bandit Keith either, but maybe he has his uses. No one is on this earth without a reason after all. Marik doesn’t quite subscribe to that philosophy but another intrusive thought hits:

“If he’s supposed to have a purpose, just control him. He can be a test run against the pharaoh… Lock his soul away and be done with his constant whining about how unfair Pegasus is.”

Additionally, Marik also never learned Yami Marik can even take his body over. The one time it happened in his childhood and lead to his father being out of the picture, Ishizu and Odion covered up by blaming it on Shadi.

Which makes me wonder how a duel between Panic and Yami Marik would look like. And I have a feeling it would end up with someone in the shadow realm and Yami Marik very smug about it.

Also this idea has the potential for lovely sentences like:

You know who’s been sent to the Shadow Realm just like 2 minutes ago? Yami Marik.

Sooo … I’d like to imagine the guy was in the Shadow Realm for two minutes and is now patiently waiting for the second Marik is alone in a room to rip him a new one.

“You absolute idiot! I had him. One more move and we would’ve been pharaoh! You were never even at risk!!! Do I look like someone who ever planned to loose?!”

Coincidentally that also makes the finale of Duel Monsters that more impactful. Because Yugi is not just saying good bye to his friend and coping mechanism, but he does it via exposure to a stressful situation.

May I point out: Yugi’s grandfather literally had a heart attack after duelling Seto Kaiba earlier that same season.

During Battle City people get struck by lightning because (God)Cards got angry at them and that’s without the Shadow Realm involved.

Somehow, miraculously, both Ryou’s and Maliks grades would stay stable.

Upon further investigation Yugi would find out it’s because Bakura absolutely steals test answers, and Yami Marik has dirt on every teacher.

Additionally, Bakura helps with history lessons and if Malik doesn’t want to sit in class Yami Marik grabs a hairbrush and sits in it instead.

Yugi looks to Atem who is busy figuring out new brilliant strategies.
