Kuni's friends he's made through his theatre major

Kuni

The man, the myth, the legend himself. After a falling out with his mother after he came out, he fled to the Akademiya and moved in with his godmother in search of a fresh start. He is objectively obnoxious to everyone who isn't his friend (whom of which he's still decently annoying to), but over the years he has mellowed out. He cringes on his old behavior in middle school, and refers to that version of himself as “dead.” He occasionally reflects on you, and feels a bit of guilt for how he treated you, though it's mostly overshadowed by annoyance. Imagine his surprise at the face he sees when he walks into his new class of the semester.

Furina

A highly dramatic girl with an act for flair. She and Kuni have a love-hate relationship that mostly consists of them shit talking each other. While dramatic, she also tends to be slightly insecure in her own strengths, which she covers with her overly expressive antics. Her insecurities are rooted in her feelings of not being able to live up to her twin sister, Focolar's, talent. She's currently a second year, majoring in cinematography.

Mona

The bane of the Kuni's existence, his extremely crude and abusive (/silly) friend. She gets onto him easily for little things, and yet, she is also the first one he'll go to for advice if and when he needs it. She is very big on astrology, and often gives her friends ominous warnings. She runs a successful online shop and majors in badadadadada you guessed it! Astronomy! What a shocker.

Childe

Kuni's ex. Well, ex could be generous, they dated for exactly three months before Kuni got sick of his shenanigans. He's a generally well meaning guy, who unfortunately suffers from a disease called being a jock (who also does theatre, what a strange mix). Despite his reckless and energetic nature around his friends, he's actually a very responsible and caring older brother.

Kazuha

Someone Kuni used to bully in middle school. They've somehow reconciled, though Kazuha isn't afraid to hold that fact over Kuni's head whenever necessary. Despite this, he is a loyal friend and is the one Kuni goes to when he needs an open ear without any nagging advice (and where he can get stoned). Kazuha is majoring in theatre, but for the most part works in the stage crew.

Columbina

A light headed girl who hardly knows where she is half of the time. Kuni is convinced she has something much more sinister going on. While not much of a talker, she is a nice presence to have after a long day. She is taking theatre, though for some reason claims to not have any other classes. What an odd girl.

☆ A/N ☆ Kuni's friend group just consists of lesbians who bully him. And Childe ig. Also, for his name, the reason why he's named Kuniko and not Kunikuzushi is because I believe Kunikuzushi was the name he gave himself after the betrayals, considering it means "country destroyer." And that felt a little intense for this au. So I changed it to Kuniko, which simply means "child of the country." There'll be more discussion surrounding his name with the chapters :)

Y/N (Aka, "Star")

Second Year at the Akademiya of Sumeru. After reassuring your parents that you would be fine on your own, you got in on a scholarship based on your high academic records. For some reason, you thought majoring in business would be a good idea. Oh how wrong you were. Now, you've burnt out horribly and were forced to take a classic literature class for your minor in english. And low and behold, who do you meet…

Candace

Your kind and gentle unbiological sister, who cares deeply for you and your wellbeing. You grew up with her as your families were close friends. She's always there to look out for you, and give you a good knock to the head if she notices you're pushing yourself. You incredibly guilty over worrying her. Being three years older than you, she's already graduated and is currently working at an internship for photography.

Dehya

While she wasn't a part of the initial childhood group, being Candace's girlfriend, she was quickly accepted as an honorary member. While not as gentle as Candace, she is just as caring and is very protective over you. Though, she's at a bit of a loss when it comes to anything related to college. She works as a daycare assistant in Sumeru City. Surprising, right? She's amazing with the kids.

Cyno

He's your bro frfr. You and him are usually up for late night DND or online gaming, yapping about whatever comes to mind. While silly in a blunt manner, he's one of your most loyal friends, and is always there to listen. Which is good to have, when you feel too guilty over worrying Candace. He's a second year like you and is majoring in criminal justice, and to your chagrin, he barely struggles at all with school (the bastard).

Sethos

Cyno's cousin and partner in crime. Don't let his puppy dog eyes fool you, he's a menace who enjoys messing with you and getting under your skin. However, it is all in a friendly manner and he knows not to push you, and is simultaneously your number one supporter. You call him a traitor jokingly after learning that he had befriended Kuniko, and had a crush on him.

Tighnari

Possibly the most level headed one of the group, Tighnari's your voice of reason and the text you get at 3am when you're just about to open another energy drink that says: “don't.” He cares in his own way, even if that means calling you out on your bullshit, which you sometimes need. He's a third year student majoring in ecology.

☆ A/N ☆ I really wanted to add Alhaitham and Kaveh as well but the cast was getting too big :( Oh well, they're in our hearts and minds. For context bc it's not really a spoiler (and will be clarified later) no one really knows that Kuni rejected you brutally aside from Candace, as far as they know yall just have a petty rivalry. So Sethos isn't evil or anything dw, he just doesn't have the full context lmao. Also, as for why your nickname is star- one, I think it's cute, and two, there was an old smau I had done but never posted where the reader's nickname was star. And I like it so I'm keeping it.
