Sometimes itâs magical, though. I saw Hadestown on Broadway and when Orpheus turned someone in the audience gasped. Thousands of years and someone still gets to experience that moment for the first time. Thatâs the wonder we need to bring into the world.
In fairness, that scene got me too, and I've known how the story goes for thirty-odd years. The musical is just that enthralling.
maybe it will turn out this time
Sudden death? Why, we knew years before that it will come. Not so sudden now are we
sudden death? no, Iâd been slipping arsenic into his coffee for five months. It was not sudden.
wait this is about the enstars event
It was, but I'm more invested in your story now
This post doesnt even have 200 notes and i thought it was confined to the enstars side of tumblr. How did...it end up here...

Girls just wanna have fun
suckin her cock welding style
Hi. What does this mean?
uncomfortably hunched over in a way that hurts my back, fully clothed, and sweating out of both heat and nervousness that I'm going to fuck it up. and then it sprays all over me
Very well, carry on
How dare you leave this in the tags
I think a lot of people were raised being told that things are bad with no explanation as to why theyâre bad and I donât think I know enough about psychology to make any big statements about that
but anyways I think a lot of people see cheating on your partner as bad because they were just told that sex outside of your partner is bad or something but really cheating on your partner is bad because you had an agreement based on trust with them and you broke that trust so like why should they trust you with anything else now
reading a historical romance novel and reflecting on the way these stories often present woke nobility for the contemporary reader. a big thing is servants. you canât not have servants in those times but many modern readers think âbut I would never have servants. it would be so weird to have servantsâ and in order to make the protagonists of the story more relatable they are actually friends with the servants. but flip your perspective and think of it from the side of the servants. wouldnât it be so awful if your boss was always trying to be friends with you. a really common thing youâll see is the woke baronet having tea in the kitchen with the servants bc heâs not like other baronets. but what if your boss wanted to hang out and talk during your lunch break every day. not so charming when you think about it that way

Side note: polonium-210 is a very dangerous isotope, however it "does not pose a radiation hazard when kept outside the body", as the alpha particle it emits have very little penetration power and cannot pierce even the outer layers of dead skin. It has still killed countless people, though, not because of children's rings, but because of tobacco. Polonium latches onto and concentrates in tobacco leaves, leading to heavy smokers being exposed to more radiation than survivors of the Chernobyl disaster.
It's always wild to me seeing comments about different toxins like this on information about random things in the past, but it's never discussed when it comes to cigarettes.

I understand that you were aiming for a morally grey protagonist, but in practice what you've ended up with is more of a moral beige.
@ancient-tree-with-deathwish replied:
how do you distinguish grey from other colours beyond black and wite?
Distinguishing features of moral beige:
The protagonist is constantly agonising over Hard Choices; however, circumstances always conspire to prevent them from actually having to make those choices, so in practice they're just angsting over stuff they might have done.
The text exhibits a recurring pattern whereby the protagonist seems to to have made a Hard Choice, but new information is reliably revealed shortly thereafter which retroactively establishes that whatever they did was the morally upright course after all.
The protagonist's moral impulses are straightforwardly heroic, except in one specific context which lacks any clear real-world analogue; for example, being prejudiced against telepaths.
The protagonist's actions are consistently reasonable based on the information available to them â they're merely operating on bad information basically all the time due to a bizarre conspiracy and/or a series of increasingly implausible misunderstandings.
The protagonist always ends up doing the right thing (for some fuzzy value of "right"), but, like, they're really grumpy about it.
How hard is it to dive in front of an arrow to save your loved one?
Feat: most of the cast of min-maxed (minus Jacques who apparently wants to look after his body, and Megan who wanted to let the boys have their moment) and several of their partners!
Wouldnât it be cool if you could watch a D&D game with these nerdsâŚ
