so i've seen some stuff on here as well as posted stuff about how much wikipedia is biased to the transactivist side. so that gave me an idea to learn to edit wikipedia together as a small group, possibly have a discord group or similar and help each other out. reblog this to boost, message me if you think you'd like to join.

i want it to be low time commitment (other irl activism is more interesting) and for people to not have to know anything about wiki to join (though if you're a slightly more experienced wiki editor, teach me your ways!!!!) also being international is an advantage (you can translate articles into other languages and keep most of the sources).

Women want to set up a women only gym for safety reasons.

Men want to set up men only gyms in spite of women, not for any actual reasons.

They cant stand the idea of not being able to harass women at all times, of not being able to control and watch women constantly with everything thing we do, its the small interactions that make them feel more powerful.

There are so many males who are angry to see a gym offer a female only space whilst most gyms are male dominated anyways.

Another comment read “I need a mens only gym to prevent women accusing me of staring at her” , many women’s nervous systems can be dis regulated in the gym, for me personally I constantly feel on edge. What a privilege it is for your biggest fear at the gym is to be accused of looking at someone.

This is a form of backdoor bigotry from both normative facts (there are more straight than gay relationships) and well represented bigoted beliefs (men are superior to women).

There are of course men who just hope you would die, as was demonstrated in this particular case in Austria, and they attempt it in a setting like this because it gets much easier for them to blame the circumstances and get away with murder, if you do happen to die.

But the concept of alpine divorce describes all the different situations where a man suddenly storms off from a hike, leaving his girlfriend/partner/wife alone, and of course it could have different motivations. He could want to just make you feel helpless and scared and realize how much you need him to rescue you (so it's an attempt to return the correct dynamic where he's the hero and you're just a damsel in distress). He could want to demonstrate how much faster and stronger he actually is, so you would stop thinking you are equal to him. He might want to embarrass you into realizing how lazy, slow, unfit and stupid you are (and he definitely does not want to acknowledge that his faster walking pace actually comes down to him having taller legs and nothing else). In other words, he is angry with you, thinks he is better than you and he hopes that you would get lost for a while so you could then realize how much you need him and fall on your knees to apologize for your inferiority or whatever the hell else.

Of course, if you do break up with him after that, he can turn it around and call you a lazy, helpless bitch who can't survive on her own, and feel satisfied that he showed you how things really are.

And if you die... I mean, he was "just trying to look for help" and "shouldn't you have been more prepared anyway?"

All that is to say... if you plan on going on hiking dates with a man, you DO have to be the more experienced one. You DO have to be the one that knows exactly how to get out of there, even in your dreams. You DO have to prepare yourself as if you were going alone the whole time. Not because this is an actually normal expectation. But because you cannot rely on males at any stage, ever. Males are not protectors. They are not helpers, they are not heroes, they do not know how to cooperate. They are selfish, irrational and angry chimpanzees who don't have enough brain matter to think about consequences, and in the rare case they do, they still end up doing the same exact things because they think abuse, violence and unnecessarily careless behavior is sexy.

Seriously, aren't you ashamed? Don't you even experience any cognitive dissonance? You're just like "haha, Rowling is Hitler"??
