The shadows from the drops of rain decorates your delicate skin. Everything was still, everything was quiet. It was just you, your thoughts, and the occasional pitter patter from outside. You were in bed, looking out through the glass to the grey sky. Skyscrapers looked more dull than ever, yet the simple scenary never failed to look beautiful to you.
Now, nothing was necessarily wrong, but something felt off. All you wanted was to lay against his chest, take in his warmth and watch the world outside.
He had been away on a work trip for weeks, you stopped counting since it began to hurt. Each day dragged by, slowly, painfully. Maybe that's what was wrong. . .he wasn't there with you, it was too quiet without him. He may be quiet in front of the camera, but behind the scenes, at home especially, he was obnoxious, he was fun to be around.
As if it was a sign to stop wallowing in your thoughts, the sound of your tea kettle filled the small apartment. A long sigh slipped from your lips as you walked to the sound, opening the cabinet, and pulling out his favourite tea. No sugar, no milk, no honey, it wasn't the right time for something sweet. Just something warm and delicate.
You took your seat back on the bed, sipping it carefully. The first sip always burned, but it eventually was tolerable. You sat it down on the nightstand, wrapping yourself in a comforter and looking out the window again.
Yet this time, something didn't look right, there was something on the glass. . .a reflection. You made it out to be a man, your eyes widened and you turned around fast, alarmed and frightened, but now overwhelmed with relief and happiness.
He just smiled and sat his suitcases down, opening his arms for you. Without hesitation, you jump to him, letting yourself fall into his arms. He stumbled back a few steps, but quickly regained his composure, holding you like his life depended on it.
"I missed you so much." Your voice was muffled by his neck, since you were burying your head into it.
"I missed you too, Y/N. But I'm here now, and I will be for awhile."
You pulled your head back, looking into one another's eyes.
"Now, let's go make me a glass of that tea, hmn?"
