SAM REID & JACOB ANDERSON attend SAG-AFTRA Conversations: "The Vampire Lestat" on June 04, 2026 in New York City

I am so out of the loop these days and missing everything online so I don't know how I didn't catch this but - new audiobooks have been launched for original TVC trilogy?! Finally! What an amazing 50th anniversary gift! I am the kind of person that is firmly in the annoying club of "reading is superior and more immersive than audio books", but whatever makes people consume media in any way is great and positive thing. And I always had massive issue with TVC audio books. Simon Vance certainly has many fans in the fandom and no shade to him it's a subjective thing, but his almost Transylvanian accent and Dracula-esque take was really not clicking with me. But this new version directed by Gabra Zackman with incredible cast sounds really interesting 🥰🖤
IWTV and TVL were already released, and QOTD is coming in July!
VA cast: Dan Bittner, Vikas Adam, Paul Boehmer, Robin Miles

Sam Reid greeting fans before the SAG-AFTRA event in NYC (06.04.2026) x
Can everyone who makes video content do a Deaf bitch a favor? Watch your shit with the captions on and the sound off, and then do another round of editing to fix things including but not limited to:
Captions cover the spot on the screen you put the information I need
The dialogue is captioned but not the song you have playing that the dialogue is responding to
You only captioned the person on the screen, not the person off screen who is also talking
No captioning of critical sound effects (alarms, bells, dogs barking, etc)
Speakers are not labelled at moments where it is not clear on the screen who is talking.
Captions cover the spot on the screen that you put the information I need!
Other d/Deaf people welcome to add.
This post brought to you by the fifth video tutorial I could not follow because the bad, auto-generated captions covered what I was trying to watch today.

i'm laughing crying throwing up. just when i managed to reconcile not attending ultimate vampire prom of all time, i'm breathing again, gaining equilibrium-- my goddamn npr up in my face like: hi! hey world. there was an ultimate vampire prom! 🤣 worlds collide
but bless them for covering iwtv-tvl and S3, this is what i'm trying to say. it's a wildly lovely interview with the three of them (rolin, jacob, sam). and THIRTY MINUTES
Does Armand feel protective of Daniel or are the lines in the trailer warning him kinda the most of it?
Oh he is. He 1000000% is protective.
There is a looooong talk about it and its a beautiful scene.
a pair so in sync that I’m not sure they’re even aware of it, the twins from The Shining if they were men in their 30s who don’t resemble each other at all.

Assad Zaman for the Reddit AMA
Anderson is the first Black actor to portray Louis, who’s written in the books and movie as a white 18th-century Louisiana plantation owner; the AMC show is also the first adaptation in which the romantic relationship between Louis and Lestat is explicitly stated. In the television adaptation, Louis’s race and sexuality inextricably inform the way he moves through the world across decades; his story becomes that of a man who was battling prejudice on the margins of mainstream society well before he was turned into a vampire. For Anderson, one of the joys of playing Louis comes from the fact that he’s allowed to be as nuanced and messy and antagonistic as any white character on the show, or any white Louis from past adaptations. “The myth of representation is that all representation should be good representation,” he says. “I think one of the exciting things about this show is that [non-white characters] Louis and Claudia and Armand are imperfect characters. They are incredibly rich characters and there is space to explore how problematic they are but also how beautiful and elegant and wonderful they are, but they don’t always have to make the right decisions. I think that’s something to celebrate. And it’s not something that’s that easy to come by now, particularly at the moment. I feel like some of that’s backtracked in the industry, generally.”
thank you Jacob
