CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ABOUT BISEXUALITY
that purple in the middle is not the right saturation, it doesn't fit with the other two colors and it drives me crazy.
all right, I think I got this, I've got dual citizenship and I have another flag we can borrow from:
step 1
step 2
step 3
This is true bi/ace solidarity.
holy shit
This is the only correct way
[Patchnotes]
swapped purple in bisexual and asexual flags for better saturation matching and color theory
Tobe: “they shoulda had scouts, lady. we coulda killed their whole patrol.”
Kel, age 19: (shaking her head) “what a world, where mere boys know the ways of war…”
Ryland Grace haunting Eva Stratt's narrative despite being alive (she doesn't know that)
Eva: dear god what have I done, I send and innocent man to die, but I had to he was the only one that could do it, and he did it he saved our planet, but he was so scared to go I will never be free from the nightmares of his screams
Meanwhile Grace on Erid: and that's how you do a macarena kids
the importance of having yuri in an Oscar Wilde play
Look textually Idk where it would be, but it is very sweet
does it have to be textually there? it was in this production and it was awesome

Every time you catch yourself going, "Fuck, are humans just inherently evil and naturally inclined to selfishness and harm???" you HAVE to remember that that's literally a core ideal of Christianity.
So if it feels inescapable and like evidence of it is everywhere, whether at times or always, that might just because you're in a Western country where you're surrounded by Christians who believe that, fundamentally, in their worldview. And also they talk and make art about it all the time and run the vast majority of news outlets. And spent over a thousand years burning any art or texts that disagreed with them. Etc. etc.
If you're gonna come to as drastic and painful a conclusion as that, at least take the time first to make sure you're not working with biased evidence (surrounded by too many people and cultural products that believe original sin is real)
And if it turns out the feeling WAS partly the result of cultural Christianity, then hey, that's great news, because it means there's that much (and it really is SO MUCH) less evidence that humans inherently suck. Which is good, because we don't
A core ideal of some KINDS of Christianity. The idea that humans are naturally evil and inclined to selfishness and harm is more closely tied to Penal Substitutionary Atonement theories and the Calvinist idea of Total Depravity, both of which were developed during the Reformation in the 16th Century. It's not a core idea of Christianity in general. Eastern Orthodoxy doesn't have the same concept of Original Sin (though that's less relevant to this conversation), and the Catholic concept of sin is not the same as Total Depravity, in fact many Catholics believe when you get baptised (as a baby) it takes away Original Sin and you enter a state of grace. (I am not Catholic so I cannot comment on this further in an intelligent way.) If you're in the States it'll be a lot more culturally common to believe in original sin and total depravity, because many Protestants do hold on to the idea of Penal Substitutionary Atonement (MY NEMESIS, I hate it so much), to the point that they will consider other Christians not Christian if they don't believe in PSA. But there are many other theories of atonement, and theories of how sin work, it's just that the loud obnoxious Christians are also the ones who happen to believe and preach PSA, and you don't hear from the people who believe in Original Blessing. Anyways I'm saying this because when you have a name for the idea, you can more easily look up articles on how to debunk it. Penal Substitutionary Atonement is responsible for a lot of messed up shit in the church and the world (it's the theory that says humans are so bad Jesus had to die to forgive them / God as Abusive Father theology). But if we don't correctly identify the problem, we can't actually find solutions that work. Anyways. You can chuck out all of Christianity if you want, or you can chuck out PSA, whatever, so long as it helps you be kinder to your neighbour and to yourself.
So many political posts I hate boil down to "I don't want to organize and work with people I hate and fight for small, incremental victories, I just want to start a revolution where everyone magically becomes an automaton who acts exactly the way I think they should act"
Like damn man, I want that too. Unfortunately I live in reality though so we're stuck with the first thing.
"Modern movements are too fractured, too aimless, with too much infighting and corruption among the leadership. What we need is a revolution, which famously never have any issues with those things" okay then. Good luck I guess
This whole line of thinking comes down to "the current systems and leadership are bad. What we need is a fresh start with only people who are good, and then all the systems will be good". Which is simply not how anything has ever worked!
"We don't have enough people, funding, and power to bring about changes through elections! We have to do an armed revolution instead which thankfully doesn't require people, funding, or power to pull off."
sometimes i think about the progression of Tortall heroines' power levels and am super amused
Alanna: I have an incredibly powerful Gift of magic, a magic sword granted to me by the Old Ones, and the blessing of the Goddess herself
Daine: oh yeah? Well I have Wild Magic that allows me to sense and communicate with mortal and Immortal animals, heal them, and transform into any animal I choose. I am also a Demigod myself, the daughter of Weiryn, God of the Hunt, was once granted additional powers by the Graveyard Hag, and am under the protection of the Badger God. Keladry: ...i have autism

This year I got to the spot where the spring beauties, Claytonia virginica, are before they mowed it. They’re wonderful mixed with violets!

just rewatched Jupiter Ascending and sorry not sorry that movie holds up actually. "technically speaking I'm an alien. and from the perspective of immigration, an illegal one" "luckily for you a woman owns this car /slaps a pad from the glove compartment on a bleeding wound/", harvesting eggs vs harvesting people for live-forever juice as a metaphor for capitalist exploitation, "the human beings on your planet are merely a resource waiting to be converted into capital." the aesthetic, the fashion, the CGI, the "I love dogs, I've always loved dogs." sean bean is there. literally this movie could not go harder.
The thing is you can have a grassy lawn or even a golf course without it being an ecological disaster, you just have to a: be cool about having the occasional non-grass plant in the mix and b: be willing to live in a climate that supports grass without irrigation.
I started to sketch out some non-Scottish islands based golf and like:
- well you’d want to retain a lot of native vegetation
- but that might make seeing tiny balls hard
- and swinging a stick might also be hard
- so you want something large that can be propelled significant distances on its own
And then I realized I’d just invented disc golf again
Aro and ace activism is housing reform, is well-funded public housing, is an expansion of affordable housing, is allowing single people to get affordable and public housing, is rent controls to make it possible for single people to be able to afford to live alone on a single salary.
Aro and ace activism is healthcare reform, so that no one needs to rely on a spouse for health insurance, so that healthcare is available to everybody regardless of income, so that no one’s lived experiences or basic dignity are dismissed or overridden by doctors
Aro and ace activism is well-funded and expansive public transit, so that you don’t need to have someone on hand to drive you places if you are incapacitated, so that you don’t have to pay for an ambulance if you need to get to the hospital quickly
Aro and ace activism is disability and elder care services, so that no one needs a spouse to care for them, so that no one needs children to care for them, so that marriage is not a bind for disabled people, so that people on disability who want to and can live alone can
Aro and ace activism is community-building, it’s public events, it’s free social activities, it’s mutual aid, it’s activities that bring community members together without socializing relying on just a romantic partner
Aro and ace activism is developing a culture of believing when people tell you who they are and what they want rather than assuming you know them better than they know themselves
Aro and ace activism means a better world for people without “normative” desires or “normative” social support, which means a better world for everybody
#isn't this just aro activism? like op is right but this is like. about relationships
Quick question do you think ace people don’t have a complicated relationship to relationships. Do you think ace people don’t have a significant incentive to not tie basic quality of life things to having a partner and children. Do you think ace people are respected by doctors or society.
Agent Provocateur | Rivere • pink Italian satin + black polka-dot print + black lace | Spring Summer 2026
Absolutely infuriating that they fussy-cut the lace but paid NO attention to the polka dot placement on the bra. The dots don't match on the seamline! The dots aren't even symmetrical! (Notice how the line of dots is along the top edge on the left [image] side of the bra, but it's pink on the right side of the image.) But I know they CAN pay attention to fabric placement because look how gorgeously symmetrical the flower motif is near the bridge! RARGH!

If you're not familiar with Crime Pays but Botany Doesn't, change that now. This is a really uplifting video about how one man transformed his Tucson neighborhood with simple changes and native plants. As Joey says at the end, the world doesn't have to suck.
