It always depends on what you want out of music. Music is (to me) still emotions and emotions are human and most important NOT perfect. . I thought I had to play everything perfectly and EXACTLY like it is written in the sheet music. . After I let go of that perfectionism thinking I started relying on hearing, ear training and emotions. . And slowly I became free 😊 . It only needs a bit of Theory, listening and a good mentor. . ⚠️STOP playing the songs you don't want to play and start playing your favorite songs. You have that earworm and you feel like this would be amazing to play on the piano but somehow you are still practicing scales and "Marry had a little lamb". This is not what you should do. When you don't want to play it then it will be extremely hard to find the motivation to sit down and practice. For me it started with Popular music and the songs that I kept singing when I was taking my dog for a walk. So I stopped playing classical music and scales and I started with Pop, Funk and EDM.
