alr so all of the koopalings are adopted. except jr. duh. the first koopalings bowser adopted were roy and wendy. (roy and wendy are biologically siblings!) their backstory basically is that they escape their abusive parents. wendy was six and roy was twelve i think that’s six years between them?? SIX SEVEEEEN idk. so they wound up at bowser’s castle and were like “hey pls adopt us” and bowser was like “sure kids cmon in” (that seems to be the case with all of the koopalings) bowser was destined to be a girl dad anyways. roy has MAJOR anger issues. let’s be honest so does wendy but she’s way more chill than roy. roy struggles with drinking and smoking too just to throw that out there. they both struggle with ptsd from their abusive family and wendy has an eating disorder kinda?? sorta?? idk its like off and on. some days she’ll barely eat and other days she’ll binge like crazy. if thats some kinda medical term lmk plss

the second gremlin koopaling to be adopted was iggy. oh boy. basically iggy’s parents kicked him out after blowing up the basement with an experiment (they were tired of his bs anyways) so they went around town offering him to ppl like “hey you do you want a free kid” and eventually they went to the koopa castle and bowser was like “sure what’s another kid right?” then boom bowser had three kids. good lord. iggy was a crackhead of a nine year old. iggy’s got schizophrenia, epilepsy, anxiety, adhd, insomnia and he’s not TOTALLY blind but his vision sucks ass so that’s why bro where’s those big ahh glasses. bro is EXTREMELY intelligent even tho he acts simple most of the time. jk iggy ilysm

the next kiddo was morton! he’s such a cutie i love him. morton grew up with mom who was a single mom who worked two jobs (and loved her kid and never stopped). then morton was recruited for bowser’s army when he was fourteen because they were short staffed i guess. idk. so while morton was serving his mom passed and since he didn’t have any other family bowser was like “yeah your mine now” awww so cute! so yeah morton struggles with depression and binge eating to cope. oh and he was fourteen when he joined the continuously growing koopa family

YAYAYAYAY TIME FOR LUDWIG. I’M NOTMAL ABOUT HIM I SWEAR. ahem anyways so ludwig was eight when he joined la familia. ludwig was (and still is technically) the crown prince of the bähnenkraut kingdom. honestly he had a very nice life until his mother’s health slowly declined and she eventually passed from cancer. that’s when ludwig’s dad started abusing him physically and emotionally purely out of grief. so one night ludwig fled his home kingdom and ended up at the koopa castle. soo ludwig struggles with ptsd, depression, (let’s be honest anger issues), anxiety, insomnia, and npd. poor boy i just wanna luv on him. oh and he’s mostly deaf in both ears and uses these magical hearing aids iggy made for him. aww how sweet (they argue all the time). also bro is a picky eater but he’s more snobby about it because he has a refined palate of course

okok the next kid was larry. i think larry is the youngest one to get adopted because he was literally dropped off at the castle when he was like. two?? three?? idk he was a toddler. bro was literally just chillin outside before wendy found him. so that’s six kids now for bowsers. good god man. fast forward to now he’s a teen yippee. the only thing he struggles with rlly is probably seasonal depression and mayb anxiety. DEFINITELY HAS ADHD THIS KID CANNOT SIT STILL. bros lazy and won’t clean his room either. but larry LOVES sports. this guy plays basketball, tennis, golf, soccer and he swims. so i guess you could say he’s addicted to sports /j

and the last one is lemmy my shaaaaylaaa. this one might be the weirdest one idk. so basically one day bowser took his current children to the traveling circus. yippee. and while they were there iggy actually found lemmy hiding in the tent because he was scared somebody was gonna find him. idk but iggy took lemmy (who was probably five at the time) to bowser and they kinda just. took him home?? and everyone was fine with it like alr then. lemmy didn’t have parents anyways he literally grew up within the circus so he called almost everyone “mom” and “dad” poor baby. so yeah. lemmy has high-functioning autism, adhd, a lazy eye (left), and he also has tourettes. most of his tics are like whistling and trilling his lips or twitching and kicking his legs. i might’ve already said this but he was five when he came into the family

ok so you’re probably asking where jr has been this whole time. well a few years after lemmy was adopted into the family he was born! by a lady bowser slept around with and nobody knew! lovely. and shortly after having jr she was like “oh i actually don’t want him anymore so you can have him” and ran off and has NEVER paid a coin of child support. ever. so that’s kinda why junior calls peach “mama” all the time. he’s such a cutie patootie

Chapter Two: Clair de Lune

A star was born.

The air was chilly that night, and the stars above the crystalline castle twinkled brilliantly against the heavens. From within came the great, heaving sobs of a distraught mother as she gazed down at the empty eggshell lying beneath her. Queen Éléonore Estelle de Koopa buried herself in her husband’s embrace, the force of her grief shaking both of their bodies. King Achilles Ciel de Koopa wept alongside his wife, repeatedly pressing trembling kisses to her forehead. A much younger Kamek stood quietly in the corner of the nesting room, his head bowed in solemn respect as he clutched the wand he had used to candle the queen’s egg.

At that precise moment, he happened to glance toward the stone window and caught sight of a magnificent shooting star streaking across the night sky. As he continued to watch, adjusting his spectacles, Kamek realized the shooting star was headed straight for the window.

Wait… wha—?!

The nesting room was engulfed in blinding white light within seconds, only for it to fade as suddenly as it had appeared. There, lying upon the floor, rested a swaddled bundle of baby-blue silk trimmed with delicate white lace. The bundle shifted, let out a soft coo, and stretched out a tiny, pale-yellow claw.

Queen Éléonore gasped and immediately scooped the squirming bundle into her arms. With careful, trembling hands, she unraveled the swaddling blankets, revealing a hatchling.

The baby girl possessed small, curling horns, pale purple-and-yellow ears that flopped gently against the sides of her head, dull, nubby fangs, and delicate facial markings. On the left side of her face rested the shape of a northern star, while a crescent moon adorned the right, both rendered in the palest shade of lavender. A single blonde curl rested atop her head, streaked with soft pastel shades of pink, blue, and purple.

The king and queen openly wept with joy as they enveloped the hatchling in a warm, loving embrace.

“Adéline Roséle,” Queen Éléonore breathed, pressing a gentle kiss to the baby’s forehead. “C’est comme ça qu’on t’appellera, mon petit miracle. Mon étoile filante.”

Adéline Roséle. That’s what we shall call you, my little miracle. My shooting star.

Chapter One: Brahms Lullaby

Tears of utter joy slid down Queen Eloise’s pale cheeks as she watched the blue-and-orange speckled egg hatch beneath her, sobs of adoration escaping her lips. Planted by her side was King Johann Sebastian von Koopa, his scaly hand gripping her own as he murmured gentle words of encouragement, his own voice trembling with excitement. Tears prickled in the old king’s eyes as he watched his firstborn son peck free from his egg. The little hatchling tumbled out from his eggshell, slick with amniotic fluid. The baby had a surprising amount of navy-blue hair, just like his mother’s. His scales were a rather vibrant butter-yellow color. His eyes, when they opened, were a beautiful shade of brown, already full of intelligence. From the baby’s snout poked a small, upside down-triangle shaped tooth that had helped him peck free from the egg. Johann was just about to exclaim how beautiful the boy was when the baby let out an ear-piercing shriek, followed by dramatic hiccuping wails. Queen Eloise quickly scooped up her baby, cradling his small frame in her arms, pressing kiss after kiss to his scrunched face.

“Ludwig,” Queen Eloise breathed, pausing her attack of affection to gaze down at the wriggling hatchling in her grip. “Ludwig Augustus von Koopa. That shall be your name.”

“Ah, a musician’s name,” King Johann grinned, leaning down to press a tender kiss to Ludwig’s nose. The king’s beard gently brushed Ludwig’s face, causing him to squirm and let out a watery giggle. “He’s going to be a handful. I can already tell by the look in his eyes.” Johann extended a large finger and nudged Ludwig’s side, electing a squeal from the infant.
