@mystoryfortheaudienceoftheworld asked me if the Pork Rind tortilla bread was salty (I made it for last night’s dinner). It really wasn’t salty. You add so many other spices and flavorings, that you can’t even taste the pork rind. They were really easy to make, so I definitely recommend them.
Are there any really good low carb energy bars? All the ones I look at are high in protein but also high in carbs-even the bodybuilder type ones. And Atkins are just gross- they are so sweet and they are high in carbs too! Anything you can recommend? I'm going crazy! Thanks!
Any bar IMO with the buzz words “energy” “power” “boost” “super” etc, etc, is just a sugar-loaded profit maker for the manufacturer.
Be the sugar from chopped dried fruit or sucrose. The slight of hand is that we can only get energy from carbs. This is false. Humans are a duel-fuel animal we can run on fat or carbs.
I make a paleo style nut crunch. Sunflower-seeds, pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds, flaxseeds, chia seeds, bashed up nuts (brazil,macadamias,pecan,hazelnuts,cashew etc) stir in 100% organic cocoa, maybe a couple of squares or 90% dark chocolate all mixed up. Then pour over a tablespoon of coconut oil and a tablespoon of grass-fed butter melt these and then stir in to the mixture. Put it all into a dish and pop into the fridge. It comes out like a bar, is crunchy and delicious.
If you want the sweet you can stir in some organic honey too, or add chopped dates, go easy on these though.
I try and keep as low as possible on the carb side.
Nothing will be as good as what you can make yourself.
And its so easy.

Knock Off Benihana/Hibachi soup!
I LOVE Benihana and my boyfriend and I were going to go last night but it didn’t work out, so I made this for lunch today (via a recipe I found on Pinterest) to settle my craving! It’s obviously not the real thing but it’s delicious, quick, and easy!
1 can Campbell’s chicken or vegetable broth 1 tbsp French’s fried onions 2 very thinly sliced baby portabellas Dash of onion powder Dash of garlic powder Salt
Throw it all in a bowl, microwave for 2 minutes, and eat it up! And if you want more fat, you can also make your own chicken broth to use
LOVED IT!

A bunch of people on the Facebook Reddit Keto Diet page were passing this recipe around. The pictures looked so amazing that I finally caved in and ordered protein powder just so I could try it
I would link the recipe but I am not really sure where it came from so here it is in all its glory
½ cup softened butter 1 egg 1/3 cup protein powder (I used vanilla zero carb Isopure) ½ teaspoon vanilla 1 tablespoon splenda
Mix it all together Heat oil in a pan. Not too hot, I think my oil was about 325°. I used refined coconut oil and filled up my skillet about an inch. I poured the batter into an empty squeeze bottle and then squeezed the batter in a circle and then zig zagged all over the pan. Fry until golden brown. Top with splenda, fresh whipped cream and sugar free chocolate syrup
Keto LC Meatball Parm
Meatballs
1.5 lbs ground beef ½ cup almond flour ¾ cup Parmesan cheese 2 eggs Lots of Italian seasonings
Combine all ingredients and form about 15 meat balls.
Brown with bacon grease or oil in cast iron to get crispy or cook on oven to get soft texture.
When meatballs are cooked pour tomato sauce over meatballs in pan and cover with mozzarella cheese.
350 degree oven for 25 minutes
Let cool.
Delicious solo or over zoodles or spinach.
It's about time for me to start using this blog again. After my mothers death my diet and lifestyle have suffered drastically. I've gained all the weight I'd lost back, and then some, and as of tomorrow I will most likely be back on blood pressure medication. It's time for me to take better care of myself because this is ridiculous and I'm ashamed of myself for letting it get this bad.

I love it when a keto recipe turns out pretty much like the real thing. Everyone thought these were great, even the carb eaters
I only followed the recipe for the Masa. I stuffed mine with carnitas, green enchilada sauce and shredded cheddar jack.

Can you post your broccoli mash recipe?
I don’t have exact measurements as I usually just wing it.  I steam the broccoli until soft, but not mush. Put in the food processor with cream cheese, butter, grated parmesan (the green shaker container), heavy cream, tons of salt and pepper. Blend until smooth. I usually top with shredded cheese and bacon bits for good measure.Â
Super Easy Homemade LC Keto “Iced Cream”.
Directions:
Start by making the whip cream.
1 cup heavy cream 2 tsp vanilla extract 5 squirts of Stevia (liquid)
Whip by hand or mixer until peaks are stiff.
Move to freezer safe container and add 2 tablespoons unsweetened cacao nibs.
Freezer overnight.
Devour!

Started with this recipe, from ruled.me but I used baked and diced chicken breast and omitted the jalapenos because I can’t deal with the heat level of those ( and yes, even with the seeds out. I always end up with a super spicy one that ruins my entire meal)
Leftovers are packed away for lunches tomorrow, I hope it heats up well
