⥠Send me a coffee? âĄ
It started innocuously enough; a note left on your car here, in your bag there and you were intrigued. It became such a regular thing that you actually looked forward to finding the little letters around you and were disappointed if they werenât there.
Whoever this secret admirer was, they certainly had a way with words and they had a way of making you smile even on your worst days. To be fair, it would be more reasonable to be creeped out by their actions, after all, you had no idea who they were or even where they came from but the insecurity residing in you from your last relationship left you yearning for affection.
You kept the letters on your side table at home, sometimes reading over them when you were upset, or bored, or lonely, or...any time really. No matter how many times you read them, it was always refreshing to pass your gaze over the scrawling letters and relish in the fact that you were âmore beautiful than any sunsetâ and that you were able to make someone ârealize that love might actually be realâ.
Hell, your own view of yourself began to change and with it, you gained a newfound interest in finding out just who you were fawning over.
It wasnât until you were in the warehouse about a month after the letters started that you found out.
Trevorâs eyes shifted towards you as you stood over him at his desk. You smiled and he pulled his headphones off, gaze focused. He looked at you with such adoration that you stopped speaking momentarily before speaking quietly, âCan we talk?â
His face paled and he nodded standing up and motioning you ahead of him. You moved just outside the door to the warehouse, propping yourself against it to keep it open. You had pulled him out to ask him what you should get Aleks for his birthday but before you were able to ask, Trevor interrupted you.
âIâm sorry,â he blurted immediately, the pale of his face receding into warmth. âI-I didnât really know how to approach you and I totally understand if youâre weirded out but like, fuck, Y/N, youâre all I think about anymore!â
You were dumbfounded with your lips apart and your eyes wide. It took a few seconds to click before you fully understood what he meant.
âWait, youâre the one whoâs been leaving letters for me?â
âWell...yeah? I mean, why else did you call me out here?â His eyebrows pulled down and your gaping mouth turned into an incredulous smile.
âYou dumbass!â You exclaimed, smacking his arm and letting out a quiet laugh. Running a hand through your hair, you continued. âI was asking about birthday boy Aleks and you come out here confessing to the biggest mystery of my life!â
Trevor looked unsure of himself, seeming to look anywhere but at you. You sighed, dropping the playful smile for a more genuine one before reaching over and loosely grabbing his hand.
Your eyes met and you couldnât believe you hadnât seen how smitten he was, how his heart wasnât on his sleeve but in the way he looked at you as if he was ready to take you away at any given moment.
âHey I...those letters are really sweet,â you said softly, now too shy to look directly at him. âItâd be nice to hear you say what you think of me all the time you know?â
âIs this, like, an invitation to be with you?â
His voice was so sweet and timid, so soft and quiet that you couldnât help but crack a smile as you nodded.
