Hey, this might seem a little bit weird and random but I was wondering what your opinion of this was. So... One thing I've been getting the urge to do is just... talk. To Loki. Like he's standing right next to me. Or there's an animal acting particularly strange that I feel is him so I end up talking to the animal. I don't know why but I get a sense of... Understanding? Kind of like he's right there and he's just listening to me talk. Is that weird?
âWeirdâ is kind of a cumbersome term. Something is weird only if it lacks context and social recognition.
For example, some people occasionally partake in a deep ritual that involves eating what they believe is the actual literal flesh and blood of their god. It sounds weird until I name what Iâm describingâCatholicism.
Weird defines social norms, not failings of character. So with that in mind, letâs look at the question of talking to Loki:
When it comes down to it, humans are social creatures. We invented language to facilitate communication and social interactions, and we donât always use it for the sake of communicating to other people.
In my time, I have seen humans talk to:
Pets
Computers
Radios
Cars
TVs
Bugs
Plants
Various inanimate objects
Imaginary constructs (âRando Cardrissianâ from Cards Against Humanity; the DMâs NPC characters, etc.)
People who arenât in the same room and have no way of hearing them
Themselves
God
None of these instances were weird, though, because there was a) context, and b) a social recognition for these things.
We turn heads with the notion of âTalking to Lokiâ because people arenât use to any flavors of paganism. But does the phrase âTalking to Godâ feel as controversial? No, because âhaving a relationship with Godâ is considered part of the normal, even if itâs not your normal. Paganism just misses out on that because itâs niche.
No, it is not out of human character to talk to a god. It might be perceived as weird by some individuals and in some instances (like babbling to yourself as you walk down the block), but the behavior itself is consistent with how humans work, and if it makes you feel happy and fulfilled, then there is absolutely no harm in it.
I imagine weâve all seen those endless lists and suggestions:Â âdedicate this passing thought to whichever deity! dedicate this thing you were going to do anyway to this other goddess! dedicate the event you had no control over to someone you worship!â
Consider: There are verbs in religious practice other than âdedicateâ.
Thank Hestia for the warmth and security as you slide into bed under your sheets and blankets.
Acknowledge and praise Apollon as you watch the sun come up.
Strive to embody Aresâ indomitable will while you work out.
Reflect on Athena and her limitless wisdom while you study for your test.
Honor Zeus by giving a couple of bucks to a homeless person.
Offer the first sip of your coffee to Hermes by pouring it on the ground.Â
And dozens of other verbs as well! There are so many options and ways to interact with the gods. Saying (or thinking)Â âI dedicate this ___ to ____â has its time and place, but variety is the spice of life, so hereâs me offering some suggestions to help add some variety to our lives. Try them out and see what works for you!
i need a witchcraft-themed Wreck This Journal.
Page 1: Make plant presses and leave them in the journal :D
Page 50: Punt kick the journal into the middle of a field and do your ritual wherever it lands then write about how it went
Page 108: Just fuckin drag this through the forest on a string and pick up anything is lands on
you know what, valid
hey if there was a Wreck This Grimoire what would you put in it. iâm trying to make one up for myself but am having trouble thinkin.
-drip wax on this page, write down correspondences.
-press healing herbs here. press luck herbs there.
-dip this page in full moon-charged water. put it in your wallet.
-wrap a rose quartz in this page and put it under your pillow tonight.
-write a wish on this page, fill it with your intent, and burn it.
-use this page to brainstorm sigils
-write down a blessing here. write down a curse there.
-rub different kinds of dirt here and write down where theyâre all from.
-meditate on this page, write down what comes to you.
-make a circle for pendulum or needle, ask it questions. write them down.
Stain this page with tea or coffee, what do the stains show
Write down your favourite guises for the fair folk here
Put this page in a jar and cover with salt
Write down shufflemancy lyrics here
Make a collage themed on your favourite celebration
Use this page to write down new moon intentions
Trace your favourite crystals and rocks on this page
Write down weird old names for herbs on this page
Write down fake astrological traits on this page
I tried to do something similar, but with a general planner approach and Heathenry. Basically so I could learn more of the myths and historical context they are born from. Like: January was for Odin. So my pages were color coded and themed for Him, and Iâd read a book on Him and take notes. February was Freyja March was Loki April was Frigga, etc. I didnât get it together in time for 2019 but I might aim for that again in 2020.
@wordsadwitchery Iâm doing something similar with my regular daily planner! at the very beginning i wrote down the moon phases for the whole year, and the dates of the wheel of the year, then when i make my calendar(my notebookâs just a dot-grid one so i have to draw all my own stuff) i put down the major dates, the moon phases for the month, and then on the next page just write, like, SUMMER SOLSTICE! and write down all i know about it, color correspondences and everything. once you remember to write stuff like that down it gets way easier to plan for it, itâs just So Hard to remember in the first place.
Such great ideas

Reading marvel!loki fanfic while being a lokean witch is weird bc youâre there reading this fake story and heâs just over your shoulder commenting on the story. Or you look up a sad fic and heâs just like ââŚ.lmao are you okayâ
Hey you said on one post that you kinda saw Loki as someone who liked the arts. Do you think itâs be possible to associate him with theatre and dramatic arts? âCause I sometimes do because of his shapeshifting abilities and actors shapeshift in a way. Just asking because I may or may not be thinking of doing him an offering and contacting him just to talk.
I mean UPG here butâŚ
Yes, definitely, totally, 100%, absolutely no dang doubt about that whatsoever.
UPG aside, Loki actually does a lot of acting within the Eddas, pretending to be Thorâs handmaiden, disguising himself as an old woman to get Frigg to tell him Baldrâs weakness, playing it dumb and pretending to be a simple falcon and NOT a god disguised as a falcon (this didnât work), and a few other things I might be forgetting off the top of my head.
On top of that, Loki as an archetype seems to go hand-in-hand with narration. He often acts as a catalyst for events in his stories, in the same way Puck in A Midsummer Nightâs Dream is a catalyst for the events of his story. Also Lokiâs archetype seems to always work very well as a stage character, so really you have everything going for you here to associate Loki with theater and drama.
Remembering Six Million
Tomorrow, on May 1, we mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
Together, letâs light six million candles in memory of six million people who lived, learned, thrived, struggled, laughed, worked and loved. Light a candle to keep their memory alive
"MARCUS: Thorâs on a mission of vengeance. And then we were like, he was on a mission of vengeance in the last movie. This is all this guy ever does! And fails, all the time. Letâs drive him into a wall and see what happens. McFEELY: He just got drunk and fat." have you seen this interview with the screen writers of endgame? cause I am SO FUCKING MAD WHAT IS THIS
Wow. Okay, thereâs a lot to unpack here. (And just to confirm, I checked and yes this is real.) Most glaringly obvious is that these screenwriters clearly do not understand Thorâs story at allâit doesnât even sound like theyâve seen his previous movies. âThatâs all this guy ever doesâ?? What the hell?! When has his motivation been solely revenge, apart from IW which was also written by these two and where much of his growth from a war-hungry, selfish prince to a self-aware king who understood the responsibility his powers gave him was reversed, in order to make his âarroganceâ become his, and the universeâs, downfall? The only other movie you could maybe argue he was âon a mission of vengeanceâ is the dark world after Frigga is killed. And even then, avenging his mother is secondary to literally saving the entire universe. In Ragnarok, does he kill his sister and destroy his own planet in a vengeance-induced rage? No, he does it to save his people and the nine realms from Helaâs terrifying power.Â
âAnd fails, all the timeâ In what other movie has he failed at stopping the bad guyâin what other marvel movie has any hero failed at stopping the bad guy? Where are these broad, sweeping declarations coming from?
âHe just got drunk and fatâ This is really the nail in the coffin right fucking here. He JUST got drunk and fat. Not, he gained weight and turned to alcoholism as a result of his crippling depression and ptsd. Just. As if itâs something to be scoffed at. That nonchalant tone is exactly why people are so angry with Thorâs portrayal here. How can you so radically change a character and not understand the motivation behind that change? Oh yeah, because they wanted to get in a few jokes in the cheapest way possible and Thor at full strength would destroy Thanos in a heartbeat. What bullshit. This was not done for the benefit of character development or representation, it was done to fit the plot and create a long-running joke at the expense of his pain. I would like to also add this gem from the same interview, which really shows how they view Thor as a character and as a plot device:Â âFor a guy people once thought of as boring, heâs become very useful.â Â Â
I think this just really goes to show you that the people who make these movies donât always have the charactersâ best interests at heart. As fans, we deserve better.Â

The 5 things you gotta know before you let that cop into your house
THIS STUFF IS SOOO IMPORTANT TO KNOW. Seriously. Itâs saved my ass before.
What do you do when you look through the peephole and see a badge?
Remember:Â You do not have to let the police in the house unless they have a warrant â or probable cause. If youâre having a party, turn off the music, ask your guests to chill, and ask that anyone whoâs too intoxicated carry on in another room.
Go outside to speak with the cops. Close the door behind you. Although some scary precedents are being set these days, police cannot enter your home without a warrant or probable cause. By closing the door, youâre cutting off a visual â or olfactory â line to potential probable cause.
Be polite. Ask why they are there. âGood evening, Officer. What can I help you with?â
Where possible, assure them you will take care of the problem. If the police ask to enter, inform them, âI do not consent to any searches.â If a police officer gives you an order and you are confused about your position, ask, âDo I have to comply?â If they continue with questioning, tell them youâll need to call your lawyer and that you will not answer any questions.
Ask, âAm I free to leave?â This is especially handy if, say, a group of youâd been too bawdy on the patio and an officer stops by. If he/she is getting a bit hot under the collar, politely ask, âAm I being detained?â or âAm I free to leave?â If the cop has no reason to hold you, quickly, quietly, and politely retreat inside.
The POCâs Bill of Rights when it comes to the Police. Remember. These are your rights.Â

All the people in the notes saying âthey arenât protected by the Constitution,â know nothing of our laws and constitution. The Constitution does not state anywhere that itâs protections fall only on us citizens, ( in fact if states wanted they could open up voting for non-citizens ) and this is the opinion held by the supreme Court in multiple cases.
( this article also talks a bit about rights https://www.learnliberty.org/blog/t-he-constitutional-rights-of-noncitizens/ )
Just because you donât like foreign people doesnât mean they donât have rights. Even if they didnât you should still have enough of a heart to care for others.
