Lossless Sounds

I’ve been taking melatonin to sleep. The experiment isn’t going well. I wake up with my eyes shocking out of their sockets at dawn. 

Lately, I keep dreaming in green. The landscapes I used to know are transformed and uncanny. I’m wrapped in valleys between words and my tongue is like sandpaper. I am drinking water and I am experienced.

We live in a time where 'Thong Song' is nostalgic. This isn’t that. 

Last week I was lucky to cross a bridge and I never had before. I’ve always been afraid of heights. The city looked nice from the center and I had a good hand. 

Something from a long time back, when springs happened and summer felt like it started in April and ended in December. 

I think these sounds are nice enough to put in the pie. 

Like eating an apple and spitting it out on a suit. 

I fantasize about coastlines. I call myself a queen. I wrap the sound around my fingers and cut them accidentally with dull knives, grating. I tell myself I’ll make better breakfasts, but I call myself the queen.

This is like that lamplight. You come out of the doctors cos nothing is wrong with you. You come out of the doctors and you go to the birthing house. You burn your fingers on left too long cigarettes. You laugh and tumble into a snare. You leave before you become shit. You leave the lamp on for someone else. 

All I can say, Jesus Fucking Christ.
